China Glaze and Internets!

We had a busy day today. I was supposed to sleep in, but I didn’t. I couldn’t, I was all awake and alert. So I got up and Nick went to make me an omelet, until he discovered that his electric frying pan had the Teflon coating peeling…not the best thing to go into your food, and we didn’t own a normal frying pan. So out we went to buy a normal frying pan, but even better we found an electric frying pan on sale for half price. We also decided to purchase a vodem. A pre-pay internet stick. It came with 2GB free usage and should tide us over until we get the net installed. Hopefully that will be next Friday.

After dad popped round yesterday more mail for me came. So when I went to visit, aka use their internet, I had another parcel to open.

It contained a number of China Glaze polishes, my first China Glazes, OPI polish thinner and Seche Vite top coat. It was a very exciting day. I can honestly say with my experience with the polishes that came today, I love China Glaze. Wow two that I tried were one coaters. Anyway back on track…In my parcel was Kiwi Cool-ada, Fairy Dust, Ick-a-bod-y, Sugar Plums, Frosty, Phat Santa, Jolly Holly and Party Hearty.

OPI thinner, Fairy Dust, Ick-a-bod-y, Kiwi-Kool ada and Seche Vite Top Coat.
Kiwi Cool-ada is neon green. So bright. I plan to wear it with Fairy dust layered over top, to support Green House at the school athletics day next week. I’ll need to layer a white polish underneath if I want to get rid of my visible nail line. It depends how fussy I’m feeling!

Fairy dust is very pretty fine silver sparkles. Over Kiwi Kool-ada it’ll look just like Tinkerbell spilled all her pixie dust.

Ick-a-bod-y makes me feel halloween. Murky dark green with orange glitter. I probably wont wear this any other time of year but I do love it for Halloween!

Frosty, Phat Santa, Party Hearty, Jolly Holly and Sugar Plum

Sugar plums beautiful rich plumy colour with sparkles sprinkled throughout.  I got away with one coat when I applied this one!

Frosty is a pretty sparkly white. It looked just liked I’d left my nails in the freezer and ice crystals had started forming.

Phat Santa is a rich red, I haven’t tried out yet, but cant wait to see how opaque it is. It covered on my nail wheel so beautifully. I was worried it’d be like OPI Thrill of brazil which I didn’t like, but it’s not!

Jolly Holly was another that seemed to be done after one coat when I was testing. I wasn’t into greens. Now I am, Jolly Holly is an amazing holly green I cant wait to wear.

Party Hearty looks so fun. So sparkly . This is the kind of glitter I like, thin enough to layer. It just adds gorgeous sparkle enhancing the polish underneath not obscuring it.

My First Orly's

Interesting day. Today I had a student grab my boobs. Granted it was one of my special needs students, but I totally wasn’t expecting her to grab my boobs as if she was going to say honk!

Dad popped round while I was at work and saw Nick. He came round to grab some undercoat, so they could start painting my childhood bedroom…ok my teenage bedroom. Funnily enough they love the colour I painted my new bedroom so much that my old bedroom is going to be the same colour. He also dropped of a parcel for me.

I bought my first Orly polishes. The Cosmic FX collection was realesed yesterday on my trusty online retailers website. Very exciting as I haven’t seen them in the shops here, although I may not have been looking! Who wants to pay $22.50 for a nail polish? I ordered the dark half of the collection. Wow they look amazing in the bottles, but I’m having a bit of trouble on the application. I’m so used to my OPI’s prowide brush, that the Orly brush is just not happening for me yet. I’m butchering it.
Space Cadet, Galazy Girl and Out of this World
Galaxy Girl is beautiful. I love the turquoise sheen, but I’m not sure I can pull off the dark deep maroon purple. The weathers finally getting warmer so I’m not sure such an autumn colour will work for me when I just want to see summer on my nails!
Galaxy Girl (Sunshine)
Galaxy Girl (Shade)
Space Cadet is amazing as well. I know it gets love from everyone, but in all honesty I cant say I’m feeling it. Its beautiful but almost too much on my nails. Then again I do love my pinks and neautrals!
Space Cadet (Sunshine)
Space Cadet (Shade)
Out of this World is my favourite of the three. Its deep dark blue/purple with pretty pink, purple, silverish sheens. Yes it’s not so douchromey, but it’s a stunning colour. I love it. I put it on straight away, but really messed up the application, so off it came.

Along with my Orly’s I received two OPI’s. Flit a Bit and Extra-Va-Vaganza. I forgot to empty my cart lol.
Flit a Bit and Extra-Va-Vaganza
Flit a Bit is amazing. It was almost a one coater. It’s the perfect sunny orange. I love it.

Extra-Va-Vaganza is not as orange as I thought. I’d hoped to be able to layer it over black for a sparkly Halloween look, but it’s not as orange as I thought and much thicker than I wanted. Yes I already own two of the burlesque glitters but this one seems to be more densly packed with glitter. Pretty yes, but me? I’m not sure, I’m not feeling Simmer and Shimmer or Sparkle-icious either. I know bad polish addict! Not loving glitters.

Revlon Glitters and other awesome parcels

Glitter! I went back to mum and dad’s today…I had a sneaky suspicion I’d have packages and I needed a prescription from the doctor near their house.

I had three parcels waiting for me at ‘my seat’.

First was a pair of yellow sneakers. They look very light and breathable, perfect for my early morning cross training.

Second was very exciting. My beauty and the beast bracelet. My favourite movie of all time is Beauty and the Beast. I’ve been waiting for this bracelet to arrive for over a month. So I was very excited to open a package and find my Disney Couture Beauty and the Beast, story book charm bracelet inside.
I love the fact it comes in a book. Perfectly fitting as we all know Belle loves her books. The version I ordered came with the standard castle charm, a rose, an ice cream sundae, a bow and a cameo of Belle. Beautifull!

My third parcel was just as exciting as my Belle charm bracelet. Revlons 2010 Glitters! Star, Slipper, Belle and Galaxy. Yes I did develop an interest because one of the polishes was named for my favorite princess. As soon as I opened the parcel, and unwrapped my polishes, I opened Belle and applied it straight to my nails. I was wearing OPI You’re a Doll, a colour I’m newly in love with. Belle’s silver holo glitter and silver hex glitter looks amazing over You’re a Doll. I cant stop staring at my nails. So much so that when talking to Nick I was staring past him to my nails. They look amazing.

Routine

At the moment I’m getting used to a new routine. Now that we have moved I need to drop Nick off to the bus for 6.40am.

Unfortunately it’s not really feasible for him to get the bus to the bus that he actually needs to catch. Luckily the bus he needs stops at the entrance to our suburb.

So far, two mornings, it’d been going well. Get up at 6am, exercise, drop nick off to the bus, shower,  decide whats for dinner and make it, eat breakfast, do the dishes, do my hair and leave for work.

Hopefully I will actually keep up exercising! I was so good at the start of the year but gradually got out of the habit. I want to get healthier and fitter so I’m determined to make this work.

Moving!

Moving day. I’m exhausted. We were up till late trying to get the last things packed, then I was up for 8am to get things moved downstairs. We hired a truck that came with two strong guys to lift, but it was charged by the hour and we really wanted to keep everything under 3hours. So we moved all the furniture outside
.
I came to the house to let Nicks dad in so he could finish the painting in the laundry and Nick stayed with the furniture fending off vutlturistic garage salers. It wasn’t a garage sale! It was all our furniture we needed!
In the end we got all the furniture on and then off the truck at our new house in under 2hours!

The mover guys were amazing. Not only did they get the truck down our very long skinny drive but they were so efficient. Most things are set up now and unpacked, but theres still so much to do.

The only major drama was the fridge. It was just too tall for the designated space. So out came to hack saw and down came the microwave shelf. Now Nick has somewhere to store his bottles of alcohol and fizzy and our fridge fits.

Finished.

Amazing. Everything is ready, we can move in tomorrow. That is if Nick ever packs.
We go the house cleaned and all the painting done. It’s just the laundry that needs finishing, but no rush.
Now I just need to pack, it’s going to be a long night.

Maori Potter?

ARGH! I’m really not a fan of the dentist. Yes I admit the drill isn’t loud, it doesn’t even sound like a drill. The rooms are pleasant, the dentist is gentle. I just really hate the injection. It’s not the needle, its feeling the anesthetic being shot into my gum. Lucky me…I needed a filling and as much as I hate the injection there is no way I’m getting a filling with out it. I still have nightmares about my final root canal appointment that started without an injection.

Ok so maybe I shouldn’t have ordered all that sugar I received yesterday! But I don’t actually plan to eat it all at once! I thought it might be cool for Halloween.

Talking about Halloween and exciting costumes, Nicks costume for his work Christmas Function arrived today. Harry Potter Gryffindor robes. I don’t know why he got Gryffindor, we both know he’s totally a Slytherin.  I was a bit disappointed in the robe, its an official Harry Potter costume, but its too long for me and too short for him. He how ever loves it as it is made from soft fleece material and is so snuggly. He says he wants to wear it all the time and it will be his new gaming costume. I say oh dear! Just imagine a tall Maori guy playing Medal of Honor wearing a Harry Potter robe…

Painting...

Today was a crazy busy day. It’s getting closer and closer to the weekend when we move in, and progress seems to be slowing on our house. It doesn’t help I want it to be finished by Thursday so we can clean on Friday. Lucky for me I was able to get away from work early and actually help.
It’s been so frustrating not being able to help because I’ve been stuck at work. Everyone else has been working so hard. Nick, his dad, my parents, Angela and even Brad has been helping. Well helping as much as a 4 year old can.

When I finally got home I had a parcel waiting. Five gorgeous new shades of OPI to play with. Wrapped ever so carefully in my parcel were; Brand New Skates, You’re a Doll, Simmer and Shimmer, Don’t Socra-tease me and Italian Love Affair.

I’ve been wanting You’re a Doll for so long now and I’m not disappointed in it. It’s everything I thought it would be. On the other hand I’m  really not loving Italian Love Affair. I wanted a pretty pale pink, but now I don’t want it at all. Bleh.

I was also lucky enough to get another parcel…it had gummy colas, sour bears and sour snakes. YUM!

Kate Sylvester Sun Glasses

I decided last week that when I have my eyes tested again this year I want contacts. That means I'll be able to buy sunglasses, so when these were $29.99 each I couldnt resist.

I have to get my eyes tested yearly. I've only had glasses for 3 years, but each year my eyes have changed. It is odd though wearing glasses when for 22 years you never wore glasses ever.

I only realised I needed glasses when I failed my eye test for my drivers licence.

I still havent heard from that ebay seller I bought my new round lipsticks and three lip spas from. My round lipsticks arrived in record time but my lip spas were missing.

I've emailed them three times and had no reply, so I opened a case on ebay and headed off to the Cherry Culture website. After all I did have a $10 voucher to spend.

My itty haul
I was ver restrained and didn't order alot, but I did need those mega shine glosses. They are my new love, move over Nick!

My haul consists off..
Nyx eyeshaow trio in nude/taupe/dark brown.

BURLESQUE!!!!

This morning the three Burlesque polishes I ordered arrived.
I ordered three thinking I didn't need the others...I was so wrong.

As soon as I saw the three I ordered I knew I needed more.

I ordered Tease-y Does It, Sparkle-icious and The Show Must Go On.

The Show Must Go One, Sparkle-icious and Tease-y Does It.
I'm still waiting for my poor ring finger to frow again after I broke it pretty badly a week and a half ago, but I couldn't resist trying out my Burlesques straight away.

Tease-y Does It, Sparkle-icious and The Show Must Go On (In natural cloudy light with Cosmo Not Tonight making an appearance)

Tease-y Does It, Sparkle-icious and The Show Must Go On. (With flash)
Tease-y Does It is my favourite. It's such a rich browny colour with red shimmer. I didn't think I was a glitter person, but Sparkle-icious has made me need all the other glitters!

Kreme de la not tonight?

This afternoon I was lucky enough to arrive home and find two very exciting parcels on the kitchen table waiting for me.

Snuggled up in bubble wrap inside the first parcel was Kreme de la Kremlin and Cosmo not tonight honey.

I've been wanting Kreme de la Kremlin for awhile now and I finally found someone selling it cheaply.
So I clicked buy now quickly and went to search their other listings for exciting polishes.

I didn't find anything else I really needed or wanted, but decided to buy Cosmo not Tonight Honey as well.

SNOW WHITE!

After cleaning the fridge and emptying the mail box I popped down to the post office to collect my parcel.

OMG! omg! This is what arrived!

Sunshine

One thing I've loved about this school holidays is the amount of sunshine. It's been amazing. After such a dreary wet term it's just been so nice to see sunshine. I've spent most of my holidays in shorts and my new sandals.
I finally seem to be getting rid of the cough I've had for the last 5 weeks as well.

Yes 5 weeks.
I went to the doctor after I'd had it for 3 weeks and was feeling awful constantly. I was feeling faint and tired, no matter how much sleep I'd had. I was so cranky with my poor class as well. The doctor told me I was fine and to drink water, which I do any way. So yeah, back to avoiding the doctor at all costs again.

I spent the day outside doing bits and pieces in the garage, getting ready to move. One of the big things I needed to do was clean the fridge. We were lucky enough to be given a fridge by some friends moving country. It just needed cleaning. I slaved away cleaning the inside untill it was sparkling, but had never gotten round to doing the outside. So that was my big job for the day.

As I was cleaning the postie arrived and handed me a parcel saying that there was a card in the letter box to collect another parcel from the post shop as well.

The parcel he handed me was a thing rectangle and I thought for sure it was the bracelet I've been waiting for...

I opened it carefully to find two smaller boxes inside and some glorious OPI polishes.

Needless to say I was very excited. So here's what arrived. Unfortunately cleaning has taken a toll on my nails and I've had three breaks so I cant swatch them right now.
