OPI: Bond Girls...Well Three of Them!

I can't believe it's back to school tomorrow! I mean, I am looking forward to seeing the kiddies again...but I can't say I'm looking forward to getting up in the morning. One could say I'm not a morning person?

I've been really enjoying the textured trend. I haven't tried any non sparkly textures...but I do love the ones with sparkles! So of course I needed the OPI Bond Girls. So far I've only managed to pick up three of the collection. I still want the others! But I haven't found a good excuse to buy them yet.

Honey Ryder
Honey Ryder is a gorgeous light gold. Neutral enough yet oh so glitzy.

Tiffany Case
No surprise...Tiffany Case is my favourite of the three I picked up. Gorgeous sparkly blue. Tiffany Case is seriously blingy!

Jinx
Jinx is the one I knew I needed as soon as I saw the promo pics. Vibrant coral with a gold shimmer? Yes please!

Color Club: Bright Night, In Theory and Abyss

Argh! I can't believe it is the end of the holidays already.
2 weeks go by so quickly. the good news is that we've had lots of sunshine (despite the rain at the start of the holidays), so I have managed to get lots of swatching done.

A few weeks ago I ordered a few polishes from Head2toe. I picked up a few polishes from the China Glaze summer and spring collections, three from the Essie summer collection and three from the Color Club. I'm super impressed with the three I picked up from Color Club.

The three I choose were from the Summer Kaleidoscope collection.

Bright Night
Bright Night is a super pigmented blue. I love blues, it's the blue eyed thing, but blues tend to look good to me. I've been looking for a nice bold, bright blue and Bright night fills that spot. I used two coats here.

In Theory
In Theory is a pretty creamy, squishy orange. Not my normal go to colour... but a pretty shade for the warmer months. Three coats.

Abyss
If I could only buy one summer polish it would be Abyss. I'm am crazy in love with this colour. Not only is Abyss super pigmented but it is an insanely beautiful shade of green as well. After swatching the three color clubs, I applied Abyss and wore it for 5 days. Yes 5 days... That's an enternity for a polish addict. Ok so on day three I added Dollish Polish Inconceivable... but 5 days. And tip wear was minimal.

Dollish Polish, Unicorns, Rainbows and My Anniversary

Well I was supposed to post this yesterday... But after all the earthquake excitement I forgot.

The biggest drama in New Zealand at the moment was the 6.5 earthquake that hit us on Sunday evening. Luckily it was off the coast, so the impact wasn't as great as it could have been, but as anyone who has experienced a  decent shake will know....it's really scary!

We had a couple of 5 point somethings on Friday and Sunday morning...then bam, 6.5. We're still getting quakes every 15min or so, but the majority have been undetectable. And I slept through the decent one last night.

Talking to other people, we were very lucky with the quake. The only things that fell at our place were 3 lego cars... on wheels off the very top shelf.

Anyway on to my original post....

Yesterday was my 2nd Wedding Anniversary!!!

So here are my awesome nails from the day...

Dollish Polish A Unicorn Farted in My Polish over China Glaze Fancy Pants
Fancy Pants was the perfect base for A Unicorn Farted in My Polish. Every time I looked at my nails I imagined a magical rainbow in the sky. Such a fun combination. The shimmer in fancy Pants really added to the mani as well. I rested A Unicorn Farted in My Polish upside down for a bit before applying it, and I didn't need to fish the larger shapes out.

And some pics of our big day.
We had an amazing wedding in Rarotonga with our closest friends and family.

Kiss the bride ;)
Yes, I'd much rather be in Rarotonga right now...
My favourite picture from the day (well favourite that includes Nick....there's a really awesome one of just me...but the whole point of the day was to marry him. So I guess he was important too)
I wish I was in Rarotonga now... it'd be way more fun to be snorkeling and sunbathing than writing reports and getting ready for parent teacher interviews.

Darling Diva: The Hot Chick

Every so often you come across an amazing polish, that inspires you...and a manicure masterpiece is born.

That is what happened to me recently...

I was sitting at home (drinking) wearing khaki jeans, a cream blouse and a rose cardigan.
I had just painted my nails in Dollish Polish Zombie Flesh. As my nails were drying, and I'd finished my drink, I thought I'd go check the mail box.

I didn't have high expectations of my mail box expedition... But zomg, there in the mail box was my Darling Diva order.i raced back inside, poured another drink, checked my polish was dry, and tore into my parcel. I was super excited. Then I saw it...
The gorgeous pink neon glitter topper I'd ordered, The Hot Chick.
She was even more beautiful than I'd imagined. Various sizes of neon pink glitter and iridescent glitters, suspended perfectly in a clear base...

Maybe it was the shot of jäger I decided to do... Maybe it was the polish gods guiding me... But I felt a sudden inspiration to apply The Hot Chick to my mani of Zombie Flesh...

I created a masterpiece.

Dollish Polish Zombie Flesh topped with one coat of Darling Diva The Hot Chick
Zombie Flesh was the perfect base to accentuate the neon pink glitters and let the iridescent glitters shine.

As you can tell I was completely in love with this mani, even when I sobered up the next day.

I wore these stunning polishes to the Cosi Club quiz night with Nicks sister, our 7 year old nephew and Nick. There were 15 teams...and we came second!
We were winning right up until the last round... Sports. Not our specialty?

So not only were they gorgeous nails, but lucky nails as well.

Girly Bits: P.S I Love You!

Argh.

It's wet and miserable....and so, so cold.
Darn you southern hemisphere winter!

My parents meanwhile are sending me photos from Spain, where they are hanging by the pool in a little hillside town. Jealous?

I tried to find some swatches of dreary, rainy day polishes... But my 'to be posted' folder seems to be over flowing with gorgeous sunshiney polishes.

So I chose the sunshiniest!

I've said over and over that Girly Bits are some of my favourite indie polishes are ever.
The P.S I Love You collection was released as a mothers day collection...I of course just had to have the three polishes. Yes mostly for the purple Twitterpated.

Hot Shot
Hot Shot is a stunning pink holo. What's not to love?

A Mothers Love over Hot Shot
A Mothers Love is the glitter topper of the collection. A stunning combination of pink and gold glitters in all different shapes and sizes.

Twitterpated
Twitterpated is why I needed these polishes. Not only is it a gorgeous holo, but it also has a pink shimmer! Absolutely stunning.

Now I'm going to snuggle up in my bed with the electric blanket and find a good book to read on my kindle!

Zoya: Pixie Dusts

I've had a pretty dry spell of new polishes arriving...so it was amazingly awesome when the M Beauty Lounger order our polish group ordered arrived. I was lucky enought purchase 5 of the Zoya Pixie Dusts.

I love fairies. if you spot me online in a game my name is Pixzee... and I love the textured polishes. So of course I needed Pixie Dusts in my life.

I ordered Nyx, Vespa and Godiva previously but was a little underwhelmed by them...so I knew I had to have the new bright colours!

This time round I purchased Stevie, Dahlia, Miranda, Beatrix and Solange.
I passed on Liberty (but I totally want it) and Destiny, as I already own OPI Jinx.

Dahlia
I'm not that fond of wearing black...but I had to apply Dahlia as soon as I received my polishes.
2 coats and perfection.

Stevie
I wasn't so sure about Stevie. I thought this would be my regret, but I really love the colour. Stevie may not have the same sparkle, but she's a darn pretty colour. 3 coats.

Solange
Solange is so glitzy. Such a pretty bright yellow with sparkle. Solange reminds me of the colour you imagine gold to be as a child. 3 coats.

Beatrix
Beatrix is freshly squeezed oranges, perfect for summer. there's something about wearing bright orange polish that always makes me smile. 3 coats.

Miranda
Miranda is a colour I love. I love this shade of pink. It also makes me dork out a little and think of Firefly. So of course I love it! 3 coats.
I'm in love with these Pixie Dusts.

I definitely rate the four I purchased from the summer collection as more me than the ones released in Spring. Although in saying that Dahlia was released in Spring and Dahlia is winner in my books too!

In gaming news....I can totally spend my holidays, when I'm not writing reports, playing games now...my darling hubby built me a computer! Exciting!

Zoya: Aurora and a Circus!

I have had an insanely busy week.

There's only one week left of term, before the holidays, and we just put on a circus!
This terms homework challenge for our 7 and 8 year olds was to prepare a circus act to preform at the M Block Circus. Yes we are slightly insane...last year we did a magic show and a raft race. This year we'll be doing a trolley derby in the summer, as well as our circus.

After weeks of practice (I swear I feel like I organised more circus acts that were organised at home), everything finally came together. We decorated the hall...

That took us 4 hours after school on Wednesday. It was totally worth it, and it's staying up until it falls down to be honest.

Thursday we had a dress rehearsal in front of the whole school and Thursday night was our official performance. The hall was packed, people had to stand outside at the doors. It was amazing. We asked for gold coin donations and we made $230 for the block! There are 4 classes in our block and approximately 100 children.

I now have high hopes there are no crazy videos of me on youtube!

Anyway...back on to nail polish...

Zoya Aurora is insanely pretty. Yes I had to have the polish mostly for the sleeping beauty reference...but also because of the amazing holo sparkles.

Zoya Aurora

Now I need Blaze!

Happy Monday!

I may have drank slightly too much this weekend and be feeling slightly blue today...

So here's a gorgeous blue polish... KBShimmer I Made a Bleu Bleu.
