Looking for Cars...

Well it's now been three weeks since my unfortunate accident. And I have a car!!!

Wow! It feels so good to be able to drive again. As much as I love walking, you lose so much independence when you don't have a car.

First world problems I know...
But I couldn't get to the shops to pick up new dry shampoo, so I had to wash my hair everyday. It didn't help I was wearing a hat whilst walking. I'd rater sweaty hair than a sun-burnt nose though!
I could only go to the local supermarket, which is expensive, and I could only buy what I could carry home... which meant going with out tomatoes and making frequent trips.
I couldn't bring my school work home with me. I had to stay late at school... then I had to walk... so i was getting home super late.

I was starting to feel a bit down, with the looking for a car every free moment... and taking so much more time to get anywhere... So I needed cheer me up nails.

These are the nails I decided on!

Sally Hansen Navy Baby topped with KBShimmer Clown Puke
Look at the flower I got on my ring finger! In all honesty I hadn't actually noticed that Clown Puke had fun shapes in it as well. I just thought it was an awesome rainbow glitter... but no it's more than that...it's a circus for your nails!

It was thoroughly awesome when I test drove a dark blue VW Golf... and my nails matched!
I really did fall in love with the Golf... well the seats and interior anyway! I wasn't thrilled about the way the car drove. But the seats... wow.

My new car is pretty awesome though. A white 2004 Toyota Corolla Runx. I like it anyway :)

China Glaze: Bitz n Pieces

Argh. I can't believe that it's Sunday already!

It's been another crazy busy week. Any time I wasn't at school was spent looking at cars or marking tests. In fact I've been so busy that over the last 2 weeks I've only painted my nails 3 times. That's a drastic difference compared to my usual every night.

I left my camera at school on Friday. We were lucky enough to have the circus visit with a group of contortionists. Honestly it was amazing to watch the 15min show they put on for the kids. So I took some pictures...then forgot about my camera until I went to use it on Saturday...

I have some great manis to share as well!

My looking at cars nails... and my Valentines day nails.

Today though I have swatches of the awesome Bitz n Pieces polishes from China Glaze. I admit when I first saw the promo's I was like...umm meh. They just looked like glitters. But they're in fact awesome glitter toppers. I'm not sure I need them in every colour... But they sure are a fun way to spice up a mani.

Scattered and Tattered over a nude...
Bling it On over Essie Nice is Nice
Grafitti Glitter over Color Club Twiggie
Mosaic Madness over a very pretty blue... I wish I could remember what I used. It looks super pretty!
Glitz N Poeces over LA Colors Seafoam
Razzle me, Dazzle me over SH First Kiss
Eeeek. Without my camera I can't remember some of the polishes I used for undies! I'll have to track it down on Monday. What is happening to me? I normally keep an insane amount of polish knowledge stored in my head... I hope looking at cars hasn't overwritten it!
I shouldn't know car makes and models...

Kitteh Spam and a NOTD

Some of you may know that we have two kitties. We have Smokey, a gorgeous 2 year old short haired gray girl. We adopted Smokey as a one year old cat when her mummy moved to Australia. We also have Aristotle, a 15 week old silver tabby boy.

We've had Aristotle for almost 4 weeks now and Smokey has adjusted very well to having a kitten invade her space. To be honest Aristotle is lucky that Smokey puts up with him pouncing on her.

Awww kitteh love love.
last night was the first night they've slept on our bed together and I managed to snap this photo of Aristotle licking Smokey. Too cute!

Aristotle is a mischievous wee boy.

Preparing to pounce on Smokey
I caught him in the sink this morning
Attacking my cotton pads
He owns the TV
And wires beware
He also steals toilet rolls. So far we've lost 5 toilet rolls and one roll of handy towel. I have no idea how he gets the roll off the holder! All you can hear is his funny little chirp, then a frustrated squawk and a happy squeal when he finally gets it. We have to keep the door closed at all times.

He's lucky he's so darn cute. Have I mentioned he doesn't meow... He runs around the house chirping. he responds to Chirp Chirp as well as he responds to Ari or Aristotle.

I must say though, he is by far the cutest when he is asleep!

Anyway on to nails! Today you actually get a nail of the day. Yes, this really is the polish I'm wearing right now! Yes i went outside and took this pictures 5 min before sitting down to type! yes I was wearing ridiculously high wedges, that don't match my shorts, because I thought I'd wear them in.

Today I'm wearing Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Himalayan Blue top with Naild'it grape Vine.... and it's a gorgeous combo!

Now I'm off to tidy the house, sort out all my class resources and games I didn't want to in the holidays and plan for school to start on Monday!

don't forget to enter my giveaways here and here!

Polish Elf Goodies

Before Christmas I participated in a polish secret santa... We dubbed it Polish Elves!

My elf was Michaela from Nail Polish Anon. She totally spoiled me.

Pretty and Polished Island of Misfit Toys, Holoday Duo Glitter Topper, Ruby , CG Atlantis, Lynnderella Boy Girl Party and Lilacquer Walk the Planck.
See! See the glitter and the sparkles and the nom nom nom polishes!

Lynnderella Boy-Girl Party over SH Lavender Cloud
I wanted Boy Girl Party to really stand out, so experimented by using it over a pale colour... Whilst I like this combination... I found an even better combo!

Nom, nom, nom!! Definitely party nails.

China Glaze Atlantis
Wow! Was I spoiled or what! Nick even felt the need to question me to ensure I'd been as nice to my polish elf. Yes, I was super nice to my polish elf as well :)

Winner

That's right recently I was a winner.
Generally I'm a highly unlucky person when it comes to giveaways and draws (although I count myself highly lucky in life in general!)

but I was a winner! I won Michaela from Nail Polish Anon NZ Giveaway.

I was lucky enough to receive Sinful Colors Cinderella, Sally Hansen Aisle Be There and a French Tip Dipping system.

Sinful Colors Cinderella
I had Cinderella already, but had de-stashed it and was feeling a bit remorseful. I mean it is named after a princess... I do need to have anything and everything princess related! I must have been having a bad hand day when I decided to part with it originally, because re-swatching it with the gorgeous bottle Michaela sent me made me love it all over again.

Aisle be There
Aisle be There is so pretty. I really should try it out over some other colours... I'm thinking a nice dark dusty blue... I love this picture in the shade it really shows the beauty of the polish.

What I was most excited to try though was the French Tip dipping system. I suck at doing free hand tips, so you've probably never seen me attempt a french manicure before.

This is my first ever attempt using the French Tip Dip kit and wow was it easy. All I needed to do was decant a little white polish into a pottle, dip the plastic guide in, swipe it on my nail...and we're done. I had a little bit of issues matching which tip I should use to my nails. I used the smallest on my ring and pinky and the 2nd smallest on my middle and pointer.

Thanks Michaela!

Prisms

For the last few months I've been on a crazy collecting spree.

I've been collecting Sally Hansen Nail Prisms.
I haven't been able to purchase any of the omg coveted polishes like Garnet Lapis or Turquoise Opal. Unfortunately I don't want to spend $24.99 (US dollars) on a polish. I'm tempted...but know that, that is a little too much for me, for one polish.

One of the interesting things about the Nail Prisms is the variations you can find. I have two Ruby Diamonds that are different colours and one is more holo, two blush diamonds where one is a blush and one is a pink and my purple diamond sucks compared to pictures I've seen.

1. Diamond LE, 2. Pink Rose Diamond, 3. Purple Diamond, 4. South Sea Pearl and 7. Amber Ruby.
9. Blush Diamond, 9.Blush Diamond, 12. Coral Amber, 11. Fire Opal and 10. Golden Cinnabar.
13. Ruby Diamond, 13. Ruby Diamond, 14. Lapis Amethyst, 15. Lavender Pearl and 17. Pink Pearl.
18. Star Opal, 19. Lavender Sky, 21. Scarlet Ruby, 22. Bronze Coral and 23. Burgundy Orchid.
25. White Diamond, 26. Cinnabar Opal, 27. Bronze Ruby, 28. Mandarin Garnet and 29. Golden Tourmaline.
35. White Turquoise, 36. Lavender Sapphire and 37. Ruby Topaz.
Hopefully in the near future I'll get around to swatching them all. most seem to be thin, take a bajillion coats to cover my white, white nail tips and take forever to dry. But omg! drool! look at them altogether. Such a pretty collection. I'll keep scouring the internet for the ones I'm missing.

If I can get a good picture I'll post my nail wheels later today :)
They've been sitting in my lounge a week and a bit now. I keep moving their location to see the array of colours each polish contains.
