We Will Remember Them...

As I am an absolutely shocking blogger, I'm posting this a couple of days late.

Wednesday the 25th of April was Anzac day. The day New Zealanders and Australians remember those who firstly were part of the Gallipoli landing in 1915 and secondly the other soldiers who have fought for us.

Both my Grandads were in WWII.
One was a Desert Rat, a Bombardaire in the Royal Artillery.
The other lied about his age to join the New Zealand Navy and ended up celebrating his 21st birthday in Japan near the end of the war.

Neither liked to talk about the war. My Grandad on my mums side went as far as getting rid of  his medals.

As a little personal sign of remembrance I painted my nails in Nerdlaquer Warrior Ethos.

Warrior Ethos
Warrior Ethos was the perfect polish to wear for Anzac Day. The name was fitting and the colours matched perfectly. The red jelly and the black glitters perfectly matching the image of the red poppy.

Hopefully over the weekend i'll get back into a regular posting schedule. I have a lot of reports to write... So I'm sure I'll procrastinate by blogging!

Color Club: Untamed Luxury

It's Autumn here in the southern hemisphere... It's been so sunny lately that you'd never know it was leading up to winter. In all honesty I'm just glad it's sunny for the first day back at school after the holidays.

Since it's supposed to be Autumn here is an Autumn collection from Color Club. The Untamed Luxury collection. I managed to pick up the complete collection pretty cheaply before Christmas... Ok so i did the swatches before Christmas as well... I'm a little back logged? At least I have a stash of pictures for rainy days.
And since winter is coming...hahaha... That's a shot right there to anyone playing the Game of Thrones drinking game... Anyway winter is on its way and I doubt i'll get many good swatching days, so it's good to have a stash.

Positively Posh
Nothing but Truffle
Pretty in Platinum
Wild Orchid
One coat of Ready to Royal
Ready to Royal
Soft as Cashmere
Jewel of a Girl
Untamed Luxury
De-Luxe-cious
Resort to Red
Covered in Diamonds
Ms Hautie
Red Velvet
Snakeskin
Over all a really nice collection. I'm not so keen on some of the glittery shades... Untamed Luxury is pretty but not as pretty as the recent release Holiday Splendor. Ms Hautie is just odd, De-Luxe-Cious is another odd one...Grey glitter... And I don't like Covered in Diamonds. In saying that I love Red Velvet. It's replaced Lubu Heels as my go to black with red glitter polish.

The res of the collection produces my favourite grey ever Wild orchid and my least favourite...Pretty in Platinum. The dark vampy shades are positively decadent though and even i was enticed to wear ready to Royal. I hardly ever wear vampy.

OPI: Serena Williams

We're home!
Actually we got home on Friday just before 5pm. Wow it was a long drive home. Over the 5 days we were away I drove over 1000 km. Yes I drove the whole time... Nick doesn't drive.

Anyway I'm back tracking a little into last years collections. I found a folder with some never before posted swatches. So today I have some of the OPI Serena Williams polishes.

White Shatter

Spark de Triumphe

Red Shatter

Ralley Pretty Pink

Servin Up Sparkle

Grape...Set...Match

Your Royal Shiness
Hmm...that's odd, I don't seem to have my swatches of the US Open collection. Either way I really enjoyed the Glam Slam collection it was fun and quirky and I enjoyed that the polishes were released periodically through out the year to coincide with the tournaments.

OPI DS: Glamour and Classic

Road trip today! I'll be without internet for a few days. I meant to schedule posts... but I've been feeling so uninspired. Hopefully we'll get some nice sunshine so I can get a good photo of my road trip nails... they are freaking awesome. Color Club Poptastic with a healthy coating of Dollish Polish Putting on the Ritz.

When I get back I have some Sinfulcolors Cast Away, CG Hunger Games and Prismatic, Color Club Poptastic and Magnetic Force and Essie Resort collections to show everyone.

In the mean time enjoy some re-swatches of two gorgeous OPI DS polishes.

OPI DS Glamour
If the house was burning and I could only save one thing... I think Glamour might be it... Ok I'd save Smokey first... but after I saved the cat I'd run back in for Glamour.

OPI DS Classic

Well it's 8am now so I had better get up and start on the massive list of things I have to do before we leave at 10ish.

We're going to Rotorua... about a 6 hour drive. I'm super nervous because I'll be driving the whole way... and I've never driven past Otaki before!

I'll be back in a few days with awesome pics of our travels :)

BYS Spam

Booo! It's Wednesday and the first day of the holidays I've spent alone. I was really lucky Nick ended up with 5 days off over Easter and we had an awesome time, but today he's back at work. At lease he's off next week with me. Yay!

In other life news I'm finally losing the weight I put on after the wedding. I've been working at it seriously for 6 weeks now and I'm down from 166lb to 152lb. I was 150lb before the wedding...but at least my shorts are fitting me again. That was my main motivation.

I've been watching what I eat and trying to exercise regularly. Some days are a lot easier than others...but I'm getting there. Now if only I could get back to 19 year old me and be 135lb again. It's achievable!

Today I thought I'd show some of the BYS polishes I own and haven't shared. All four polishes are colour changing polishes. They change depending on the temperature. Some were easier to capture the colour change than others...it doesn't help I swatched them on a hot day!

Glitter Blue

Blue

Salmon

Bright Purple
I've found the purple shades of the BYS colour changing polishes to have the most dramatic differences.
The only one I'm not so keen on out of these four is Glitter Blue. It's just a little bland...? Blue is a stunning turquoise and Salmon is a very flattering coral. Bright Purple has a smidge of shimmer to make it stand out but Glitter Blue...just doesn't do it for me...I mean it's pretty...but yeah.

Oh well.

I'm off for a walk to the post office. I love holidays and being able to take the time to walk everywhere.

Zoya: Phoebe

Happy Easter Monday...I hope everyone has had a fabulous holiday weekend, whether you celebrate Easter or not. My weekend didn't go quite as planned, but it's been incredibly awesome anyway.

We spent Friday chilling with family. Somehow we managed to see three lots of family and I even got some pictures of my gorgeous one year old nephew showing his excellent taste and playing with some glitter polish bottles. Saturday we went to a BBQ and Sunday we passed just spending time together. It's been glorious weather, so hopefully today will be amazing as well. We have grand plans of budgeting and cleaning today...

I don't really have any Easter appropriate swatches to show everyone, but since the weather has been so magnificent I thought I'd rock a bright summery polish. Zoya Phoebe.

Zoya Phoebe
Phoebe is a gorgeous bright blue matte with a fine shimmer. She looks amazing matte, but when you add a top coat the shimmer really hits you.

Phoebe with top coat
I made the mistake of asking my class of 7 and 8 year olds why we have Easter. They told me it was so we didn't have to go to school, it's when the Easter Bunny comes, it's when Jesus was born, it's when baby animals are born, because we like chocolate and so we can spend time with family. Then they asked me why we have Easter. Being in a Christian country but a public school I told them Christmas is when we remember Jesus was born and Easter is when we remember Jesus died. Then one of my kids put up his hand and asked...

So does Jesus lay eggs?

My class are pretty awesome.

Revlon: Fierce and Royal Cloak

I hope everyone has had a fabulous start to their long weekend. I know I have. I didn't have to get out of bed when I woke up today. I stayed in bed until 9am. That was the highlight of my day!

Today I have two stunning Revlon polishes to show Fierce and Royal Cloak.

Fierce
Fierce is a very pretty fuchsia foil. It had amazing coverage and I felt like even I could get away with one coat...being a creature of habit I of course used two. I picked Fierce up from Farmers but I haven't seen any of the polishes from this collection for awhile, which is a shame I was keen to try a couple of the others.

Royal Cloak
Royal Cloak is an amazing polish. It's such a nice purple...so of course it looks blue here and purple. What sets Royal Cloak apart is the gorgeous little flakies littered through it. Royal Cloak was from Revlons Halloween collection but I have seen these polishes in Farmers recently, just in case you missed it.

NOPI: Kardashian Kolors

I'm a little late to the scene with these awesome glitters...but here are my picks from the Kardashian Kolors collection.

Follow Me On Glitter
Embarrassing fact...I only just got that name. I honestly had no idea what it meant. Yeah...social media is not one of my strengths.

Wear Something Spar-Kylie
I actually think I love this polish more than Excuse Moi! It's the same base without the extra rainbow glitters.
The lack of the rainbow glitter makes it so much sweeter and so girly.

Kendall on the Katwalk
I love this mix of glitters. Teal, blue and purple, but mostly blue. Very pretty, very sparkly and I'm very much in love.

I also purchased Disco Dolls a highly awesome gold glitter, which I'm deeply in love with as well. I just seem to have misplaced my photos.
