All That Glitters: Dotties

I'm still hard at work getting reports done.

When I say reports I don't mean a single A4 page for each child. I mean around 25 A4 pages for each child, including full pages of text, photos, scans of work and graphs showing exactly where each child is at. It's a lot of work. Especially when you have 27 children to teach.

Our new kitty Bumble Bee has been with us a week now. She has a vet appointment this afternoon, just to have a check up. Did you know it costs more to take her to the vet than for me to see the doctor? Crazy.

Anyway on to polish! I have quite the indie polish obsession, especially glitter top coats. Of course I needed the Light and Dark Spotty Dotties from All That Glitters.

I love combining the two Spotty Dotties. they look amazing layered over each other. One of my favourite combos is wearing the two over a browny taupe.

And I better head to work now! children to teach and all... lets hope they are calmer than yesterday. they had a half day yesterday due to Teachers Union meetings and were high as kites.

Darling Diva Polish: The 13th Colony

Wow, I'm over half way through my holidays and haven't achieved half of what I wanted to.
Last school holidays I was working most of the time trying to get portfolios (reports but much more work) done. So this school holidays I've kind of just wanted to do nothing.

I have managed to re-swatch my entire China Glaze collection though! That was no small feat.
I have also been working hard to get back into a good routine of exercise and healthier eating.
I still haven't manage to get into a good routine of doing the 30 day shred everyday, but I have been doing 20-30 min on the elliptical and trying to do at least a 30 min walk everyday. Unfortunately yesterday the weather turned against me.

Darling Diva Polish is one of the first indie brands I bought and not too long ago I made my second order.

Today I have The 13th Colony to show you.
I am somewhat a nerd when it comes to tv choices, but in all honesty I have never watched Battlestar Galatica, so I have no clue of the meaning behind the polish. All I knew was when I saw swatches of The 13th Colony I had to have it.

I love the mix of glitter, and this was only one coat of The 13th Colony. My favourite thing about the polish is white glitters, gorgeous.

I actually received my DDP order just after my Candeo order and as soon as I opened it my hear sank a little. I had been so excited about about The 13th Colony but when I opened my parcel I was immediately reminded of Candeo Dive Bomb.

But the good news is they are nothing alike!

The similarity is that they both have blues and teals and copper. The difference is 13th Colony has white and green glitter, and the glitter is different sizes.

Totally worth owning both!

Happy Spring: All That Glitters Princess Polish!!!

Well it's now September... That means it's Spring!

I got a super awesome parcel on Saturday and can't wait to show everyone what was in it...
So you get two posts tonight!

As you can probably guess from the title of my post I received the bottles of polish I ordered from All That Glitters princess polishes.

I was very restrained and only ordered three polishes...but when she opens back up next week I am so buying the remaining four.

Book Smart Beauty (Belle), Fins for Feet (Ariel), Not a Prize to be Won (Jasmine)
As soon as I saw these I knew I needed Belle's polish. if I was a Disney Princess I'd be belle with blue eyes... Unfortunately mum and Nick vetoed playing Tale As Old As Time as a wedding song... Something about implying Nick was the Beast...?

As for Ariel and Jasmine... I had to have them for the colours... and they totally fall in as my next favourite princesses. (Oddly enough Snow White is my fave princess to dress up as though)

2 coats Not a Prize to be Won, 2 coats Fins for feet and 3 coats Book Smart Beauty.
As you can see these polishes can be worn alone... But I plan to use them as layering polishes.

How I could I resist making one of these gorgeous polishes my full mani. I settled on Fins for feet to match my clothes for tomorrow (Yeah I was tidying up so I got my clothes sussed already).

I used 1 coat of aEngland Gallahad (perfect base colour) and 1 coat of Fins for Feet... Yes that's right 1 coat! I am in love with this combination!

And lastely here's a little shot of Spring from our house. I love blossom :)

a-England: Holo Goodness

The last of my a-England polishes are the two gorgeous holo's. Although not crazy linnear holo's these two polishes hold their own in the holo world. They are amazing colours and the gorgeous holo particles just add to the beauty of the colours.

Lady of the Lake
I was a little worried that Lady of the Lake would be too close in colour to Color Club Wild at Heart. Good news (or bad news if you wanted a dupe)...Lady of the Lake is very different to Wild at Heart. Lady of the Lake has more blue tone to its purple. Not quite as blue as it is showing in my photo...but definitely a blue/purple.

Tristam
I have nothing else like Tristam in my collection. Tristam is a unique dark blue holo polish. I honestly just love the base colour of this polish so much. It is a gorgeous dark blue, not too dark, not too light...just right. The holo is an added bonus.

a-England: Bright and Sparkly

Continuing my week of a-Englands I have the brights and glitter polish that I own.

Galahad
Wow! Just like Guinevere this is one smooth creme and the colour is to die for. Galahad is my favourite of the a-England polishes that I own... yup I love this one more than the holos... it's just so perfect.

Holy Grail
How could I not buy a polish entitled Holy Grail. This Holy Grail is a very yellow gold shimmer. It stands out from other golds because it is so yellow based. I'm not sure it's the right colour for me. Mum how ever saw it and won't give it back!

Merlin
Merlin is a stunning silver glitter. This was two coats and as you can see Merlin is dense enough to be built up and worn alone. Merlin is also fab for layering and adding some sparkle to another colour.

a-England: Lady like hues

a-England polish are gorgeous. They have the cutest bottles with silver caps and crown print. They are named after British mythology. The cremes are amazing. The shimmers are stunning. The glitter is awesome and there are two holo polishes...one of which is a stunning dark blue...

Seriously what is not to love about a-England? So lets have an a-England week! I've got three posts lined up for you all this week showcasing some amazingly awesomtastic a-England polishes.

Lets start today with some lady like hues.

Guinevere
Delicious dusty purple. Two coats of smooth polish. I really don't know what else to say except Guinevere is awesome and go buy it!

Isuelt
Isuelt is a pale pink. A very pale pink shimmer. I know this colour won't suit everyone and I think I'm just on the line of does it look good or does it make me red... but I really like the ladylike pale pearly pink.

Morgan Le Fay
So Maybe I did buy Morgan Le Fay just for the name... I may or may not have being having a Stargate moment... talking of Stargate moments... I'm loving Terra Nova but omg it reminds me of Stargate...and Jurrasic Park...and Lost.... Anyway Morgan Le Fay... very pretty shimmer white. Can be used as a layering polish or built up to wear alone. This was 2-3 coats.

These polishes are crazily photogenic and look even more delicious in person.
