RBL: Catherine H

I was supposed to post this yesterday... but after a night out running the games at the school disco...I really didn't want to get out of bed. There's just something about attempting to control a larger group of children high on sugar that drains you.

Then I got sick. I was doing the roll for my class on Friday morning and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to throw up. I sent them out to run round the field and got myself a glass of water. I felt generally lousy all yesterday and it's developed into a head cold. I love the end of term... sarcasm may have been present in that statement. 4 more days of school until the holidays though.

Anyway here is my last RBL polish to show you all, Catherine H. Catherine H is my favourite polish from the Tudor Housewives. I love a good blue...even better if its a Wedgewood blue. Hours of Antiques Roadshow has taught me all about the awesomeness of a good Wedgewood.

Catherine H
And now I think I'll go back to bed a die quietly. Darn head cold.

RBL: Catherine

When I first became obssessed with polish RBL was just too darn expensive and I thought I could live with out the Tudor Housewives. I thought I didn't need Catherine... and then just like that they were gone. Sold out. I didn't have the choice of not buying them...I just couldn't buy them. All of a sudden I developed a need to have those Tudor Housewives in my life.

I soon realised if you want a RBL polish it's best to suck it up and buy it. When they sell out, they sell out. I bought my first RBL polishes when I saw swatches of Piu Mosso and knew I needed it in my life.

I was lucky enough to get Catherine, Anne and Catherine H when they were brought back.

So with out further rambling here's Catherine!

Catherine
Catherine is a stunning red based dusky purple with the most amazing shimmer. The tiny little specks of pink and blue shimmer really make Catherine stand out.

RBL: Scrangie

I'm so excited about the RBL Fan Collection. I pre-ordered the three I wanted the most on Saturday morning. I warned nick I was goign to spend $100 on only three bottles of polish. He mumbled something and rolled back to sleep. I took that as a 'yes honey do what you want'. when he woke up he wasn't so happy with me...but I'll get three gorgeous bottles of polish eventually to fill tat void right? Or I'll let him buy some more Lego...

Anyway I have three gorgeous bottles of RBL that I haven't shown on my blog yet. Scrangie, Catherine and Catherine H. I was lucking enough to get them when they were brought back. Thank you polish god!

Lets start with Scrangie.

RBL Scrangie
OMG. Do I need to say anything? I was underwhelmed by the photos I had seen of Scrangie and didn't understand the hype...until Scrangie arrived at my door steep and I played with it in the sun.

Photo's don't capture all the amazing tealy/turquoise shimmer that Scrangie has to offer.

OPI: Holland

So far this year I have only seen one collection that I have 'needed' and 'couldn't live without'.

The OPI Holland collection. I'd give away my magnetix for this collection. As soon as I saw the promo pictures I fell in love. I knew that I had to have at least 6 of the gorgeous polishes in this collection...I just didn't know exactly which 6 I needed...So I comprimised and bought the set of 12. Thank God for the internet! If I had to buy these in NZ that would have been a lot of money. $26.90 for OPI is ridiculous.

***Rumour alert*** I hear that The Warehouse is going to be stocking OPI for a much cheaper price tag...The rumour I've hear was around $15. I have no idea whether that will be core polishes, random rejects that were found at the bottom of a polish pit or new collections...***Rumour alert***

Anyway back on track... I got my OPI Holland polishes...and to be honest I'm not parting with any of them. I'm keeping all 12 of them.

Ok so the colours aren't all terribly unique... but the collection looks so amazing together. I'm in love with I Don't Give a Rotterdam! and Pedal Faster Suzi! If I had to pick just two to keep, they'd be my picks. Luckily I don't have to pick just two...so I'm keeping them all!

HITS: Flakies

I know bad blogger. I can't even remember what the actual collection for these gorgeous Hits Flakies is called. I know it translates to World of Dance...but I don't speak Spanish, actually is it in Spanish? What language is it in/ Don't people from Brazil speak Portuguese? ...I don't think linguistics are my specialty.

Anyway no matter what the name of the collection these polishes are stunning.

Cha Cha Cha
Hula
Can Can
Lambada
Vsalsa
Jazz
Samba
Flamenco
Fox Trot
Twist

Tango
Salsa
These are available at llarowe.

I know some people may be put off by their tiny size...but I think they're so darn cute. I'm just reluctant to wear them alone. I'd rather layer them.

China Glaze: Magnetix

I am in love with magnetic polishes.

I'm lazy. I like to paint my nails and be done with it. no fluffing about stamping or adding dots and stripes for me. So when the powers of polish come out with awesome quick ways to make my nails stand out....I jump on that bandwagon. I love shatter and I love magnetics.

One of the first mainstream companies to do magnetic polishes was China Glaze and in all honesty I swatched these polishes quite awhile a go.

Attraction
Pull Me Close
Instant Chemistry
Cling On
You Move Me
Drawn to You
Sorry my pictures don't show all the magnets equally....I love the diagonal stripes. They look so clean and uniform. The chevron just never seems to work the way i want it to and the star is awesome, but I just don't love it like I do the stripes!

I'd have to say my favourite polish is Pull Me Close and my least favourite was Attraction. I thought I'd love Attraction but it's just too dark for me. I'm just not a black polish girl. I had two surprises in the collection. I just didn't expect to love Instant Chemistry or Cling On. Cling on was the first of the magnetics I wore. I layered over Essie Armed and Ready and fell in love. I really am loving the olive tones that are popular now.
