Pretty & Polished: Colour Changers

I love colour changing polishes.
I must own them all!

As soon as these three gorgeous colour changers were released by Pretty and Polished they jumped in my cart to come live with me.

Mirror, Mirror
A pretty blue that changes to pale blue with gorgeous round blue and pink glitters, and a sprinkling of tiny glitters.

Cuttlefish
Zomg! I need all the TEALS! And Cuttlefish is a gorgeous teal that changes to a pale white tone.

Flip, Flop, Fuggetaboutit!
Flip, Flop, Fuggetaboutit! is perhaps my favourite... I love them all...but there's something about this gorgeous bright coral that changes to white. I think it's the white with vibrant coral glitters I love so much.

I used three coats for each of these polishes and had no drama with the formula. The glitter and colour change does make them lean slightly thicker, but no drama! Just wait between coats.

These gorgeous colour changers can be found at Pretty and Polished.

Pretty & Polished: Spam

It's a beautiful sunny morning here in Wellington. Yay!
Unfortunately I'm stuck at homewith out a car, it's warrant of fitness day.
But 'lucky' for me I have far too much cleaning to do and need to try and rearrange the house to fit new furniture in.

Today I have some stunning polishes from Pretty & Polished to show you.
I was so excited when Pretty & Polished starting shipping internationally again. Before these awesome polishes I had only managed to snag three minis... and I wanted more!!!

Pool Party 3 coats
Pool Party is such a gorgeous blue base with shimmer and fun glitters strewn all the way through. i love the glitter distribution in Pool Party, I often feel there is too much glitter in polishes... Pool Party is perfect in my opinion. I know some people will disagree but I love that there's not too much glitter on the nail.

Rat-a-tat over CG For Audrey
Rat-a-tat is awesome. A seriously amazing combination. Who doesn't love black glitter? and to add a turquoise/teal glitter as well? Love love love.

Diner Daze over OPI Red Lights Ahead...Where
Diner Daze is a thinner red jelly with white and black glitters. I found it was best to apply it over a bright red base. i used two coats so my glitters still appear sandwhiched.

Hearts and Daggers over Zoya Dove
Hearts and daggers, as you can imagine, is a bit of a pain to apply... but it is rather pretty. I'm not normally one for heart glitters, but I acytually like the hearts in Hearts and Daggers. Best to dab this one on! I love the combination of colours over a grey creme.

Spring Fling 4 coats
I am insanely in love with all of the Pretyt & Polished colour changing polishes. I especially love adding a glitter topper for an easy gradient. I'm lucky my nail  beds are small and I end up with quite a bit of free edge. Most of the day these awesome polishes have a very cool gradient happening on me. Spring Fling is a bright green when warm and darker when cool.

Dolli-pop 3 coats
Dolli-pop is a blue when warm and purple when cool.

Day Trippin'
Day Trippin' is a pretty pink tone when warm and a purple the same shade as Dolli-pop when cool. Yes you do need them both... they're different colours when warm!

Candy Corn
Candy Corn is a stunning bright yellow when warm and orange when cool. I've seen some people complain the warm yellow is snot coloured... not so with my bottle! this is one polishes that my camera hasn't mae appear brighter or yellower. My bottle is most definitely a bright yellow.

Phoenix over Candy Corn
And this is one of my favourite mani's of 2012. Phoenix is a stunning red and yellow glitter, throw it on over Candy Corn and you have the most awesome nails ever.

I am now eagerly awaiting my recent Pretty & Polished order... Bet you can guess what I ordered...

Polish Elf Goodies

Before Christmas I participated in a polish secret santa... We dubbed it Polish Elves!

My elf was Michaela from Nail Polish Anon. She totally spoiled me.

Pretty and Polished Island of Misfit Toys, Holoday Duo Glitter Topper, Ruby , CG Atlantis, Lynnderella Boy Girl Party and Lilacquer Walk the Planck.
See! See the glitter and the sparkles and the nom nom nom polishes!

Pretty & Polished Happy Holoday Duo Ruby and Glitter Topper

Pretty & Polished Happy Holoday Duo Ruby

Lynnderella Boy-Girl Party over SH Lavender Cloud
I wanted Boy Girl Party to really stand out, so experimented by using it over a pale colour... Whilst I like this combination... I found an even better combo!

Lynnderella Boy-Girl Party over LA Colors Wisteria
Nom, nom, nom!! Definitely party nails.

Pretty & Polished Island of Misfit Toys over Revlon Girly

Lilacquer Walk the Planck over OPI Tomorrow Never Dies

Lilacquer Walk the Planck over black

China Glaze Atlantis
Wow! Was I spoiled or what! Nick even felt the need to question me to ensure I'd been as nice to my polish elf. Yes, I was super nice to my polish elf as well :)

Pretty & Polished: Holoday Duo

Once again I'm blogging from my new iPad mini. I'm getting used to the blogger app. I guess I make it easier on myself because I set up a whole bunch of draft posts with pictures on my desktop and then just edit the rambles later.

Recently I joined an awesome polish community for NZ girls on Facebook. If you are a polish addict from NZ and haven't joined, let me know so we can add you. In our GOP we did a polish elf secret Santa. We posted stash lists and wish lists to ensure double ups didn't happen. I drove my elf crazy by editing my wish list to make it super generic an non specific. I felt bad having a whole bunch of dares and indies listed.

My elf ended up being Michaela from Nail Polish Anon.

These are two of the beauties she sent me. And yes they were on my wish list before I edited it!

Ruby topped with Happy Holoday Glitter Topper

Ruby alone, 3 coats

Thanks so much Michaela. I love this set! I think it'll be for pedi for Christmas Day :)

Pretty & Polished: Candy Corn and Phoenix

I'm supposed to be working. Typing up childrens stories...
But when the work I'm typing consists of the three little pigs stopping off for donuts before moving to Antarctica, one little pig gets eaten by the big bad polar bear...the other two celebrate? I'm pretty sure we had a class discussion about the fact there are no polar bears in Antarctica when we learnt about penguins... but hey, the big bad polar bear likes to eat pigs in Antarctica... should I even start on the fact the pig would be a pigsicle!

So you can understand why I need to take a break to post this stunning combo.

These gorgeous Pretty & Polished colour changers didn't get enough love. I love colour changing polishes! So I ordered the four available. I found all four were awesome. 2 coats was vibrant, 3 coats was perfect.

Candy Corn
Candy Corn is a vibrant orange that changes to a very bright yellow when warm. I'm lucky (in this case!) that the free edge of my nail is rather long compared to my nail bed...so I get this awesome gradient effect while my hands are warm. This was three coats of awesomness.

Candy Corn with one coat of Phoenix
Then I made Candy Corn even more awesome... I added one coat of Phoenix (one of my biggest polish leemings, but it's mine now). I mean seriously can polish get more awesome?

Ok back to typing up stories...
The next one is a gripping retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk and his cat called Raven...
