Sparkling Sapphire Holo Awesomeness

Have you ever had a winter where you just felt you were sick the whole time?

I had an awesome 10 day in Rarotonga where I'm sure I was healthy for at least 7 of them...

Then I'm back to sick. Argh! Just another head cold, but I'm not good at being sick.
My nose is just dripping, my head hurts, my lips are swollen and sore (actually I'm not sure how that relates) my nose is snore...and I want a cuddle :(

Good thing we've had two snow days so I could stay at home and rest.

Anyway, enough whinging. My nail polish/book room is almost complete. And postal services should be back to normal tomorrow...So maybe I'll get some parcels!

Awhile ago, back when there was sun, I swatched OPI DS Sapphire. I just never found the right time to post this amazing polish. It seemed an appropriate colour at the moment, with all the snow we had yesterday! Gorgeous icy blue holo...mmmm! This was 4 coats. Sapphire is on the thinner side.

Snow Day

Yesterday morning it was clear and the snow was beginning to melt...

We had a snow day and it was Nicks day off yesterday. It almost seemed silly we were having a snow day.

But by yesterday afternoon it was snowing, hard. It was described as blizzard like conditions on the news. I would not have liked to drive in it, but it was very pretty to play in at home.

Now I'm lying in bed sniffing and waiting to find out if we're having another snow day. All the schools around us are still closed. So I think the chances are pretty good that we'll be closed today. There's still a chance for snow later today. It's not supposed to be as bad today, mainly sleet and showers.

But then they said yesterday wasn't going to be as bad as Monday...and you can see what happened!

I had plans to do a snow mani, but just as I was starting to paint my nails the neighbours wanted a snow fight... Maybe I'll do them today!

Opps...and some OPI DS goodness!

I mentioned the other day I had an opps with my nails and a file...then my nails and slippers...then my nails and the scissors...

Well on Sunday I decided to use one of my precious OPI DS polishes...then though my nails were rather hacked looking.

So here is a picture of my opps nails made better because OPI DS Glamour is there.

So there you have it, opps! My mum's right though, they will grow back.

And here's a sneak peak of my current project...

A room dedicated to my books and polish. Bradley asked if it was my library...I like it!

Zomg Snow!

Ok I know that snow isnt a big deal for a lot of people...
But when you live 15min from the harbour at basically sea level...it's a big deal when it snows.

Check out these pics I took at school today.

The field behind the school, looking towards the river.
The kids snowflakes on the windows and real snow outside on the playing field.

Snow! Just before lunch... I of course let the kids run outside and play in it.

All lunch time it snowed gently and then after lunch when all the kids were back in class it went crazy. When they went home the school was white.

The playground.

The court beside my classroom.
Our Parent Teacher interviews got cancelled, thank goodness, and we were told to go home, not to hang around school. I drove to mum and dads house and tried to get hold of Nick. He was supposed to finish work at 9pm...in Wellington . An hours bus ride away. I wanted him to come home so he didn't get stuck. He works right by the sea and didn't believe me it was crazy out this way.

He believed me as we got to Stokes Valley...the whole valley is white.

In front of our garage.

Good thing he came home. They've cancelled all the buses in the Wellington region due to ice and hazardous driving conditions. He's pretty happy with me now.

Procrastinating

I should currently be writing a billion comments for parent teachers tomorrow...yes i left the comments to the last minute. I hate writing comments!

So instead of writing my comments I'm taking a few minutes to procrastinate and post on here :)

In all fairness I have completed my reading and writing comments. I just have the maths ones left to write.

I've been a little slack with posting since I came back from my amazing wedding/holiday in Rarotonga.
I'm actually having a few nail issues. my nails were just how I like them  in Rarotonga...but they made getting my contacts in a little difficult.

So here are some holiday nails!

A few days old wedding nails... BB Couture Tink Pink and a nail sticker. Mickey and Minnie are making an appearance.
Sinful Colors Thimbleberry out and about on a 4 wheel drive safari tour.
OPI Catch Me In Your Net. We were visiting the marine reserve  for a snorkel so I needed to wear something mermaidy!
Anyway I got back from Rarotonga and attacked my nails with a file... I was determined to have straight tips...which I hated. So out came the file... then the nail clippers... and then finally I got so fed up with my nails that i attacked them one lunch time with a pair of school scissors.

needless to say my nails are nubs right now... my mum was proudly showing me her nails the other day. Silver with black shatter on top. She looked to see what colour I was wearing (I wasn't wearing polish) and exclaimed..."oh, what did you do? Don't worry they'll grow back". Lol....I do love my mum.

Anyway back to writing comments... I'll be at school from 8am to 8pm tomorrow and Tuesday...argh.

Wedding: My Favourite Photos

I know I posted my day 5 pics yesterday...but I'm going back in time and continuing my wedding photos today...

The photographer that took our photos was amazing but it was still one of the most awkward experiences! I'm not used to my photo being taken so much.

Rarotonga: Part 5

The day after the wedding I actually abandoned Nick and left him in bed. He was still feeling pretty bad and needed to sleep. I wanted to go to the markets though. So Mum, Matt and I took off on the 8.40am bus to explore the markets.

It was awesome. It wasn't just a tourist market, it was the local market. There was food, vegetables, tourist things, clothes, jewellery and did I mention food? There was so much food!

Busy markets

Nick with the new toy i bought him at the markets.
Nick was feeling a lot better that afternoon and we managed to get snorkel gear from the resort. So we went for a snorkel! There were so many fish in water by the resort. It was so much fun.

Sexy goggles (If you looking closely that is BB Couture Tink Pink on my nails)
Fish!

After a swim Jess, mum and I went to learn to tie our sarongs.

Myself and Jess looking sexy in sarongs.
then later that night we went to the island show. It was amazing. A full buffet of Cook Island food and an amazing dance show. It was actually a rather busy day, but pretty awesome.

Food!
Dancing!
And i'll leave you today with a sunrise image rather than a sunset. I took this photo the first morning of my married life...(awwwww)....
