Pretty & Polished: Holoday Duo

Once again I'm blogging from my new iPad mini. I'm getting used to the blogger app. I guess I make it easier on myself because I set up a whole bunch of draft posts with pictures on my desktop and then just edit the rambles later.

Recently I joined an awesome polish community for NZ girls on Facebook. If you are a polish addict from NZ and haven't joined, let me know so we can add you. In our GOP we did a polish elf secret Santa. We posted stash lists and wish lists to ensure double ups didn't happen. I drove my elf crazy by editing my wish list to make it super generic an non specific. I felt bad having a whole bunch of dares and indies listed.

My elf ended up being Michaela from Nail Polish Anon.

These are two of the beauties she sent me. And yes they were on my wish list before I edited it!

Thanks so much Michaela. I love this set! I think it'll be for pedi for Christmas Day :)

KBShimmer: Christmas (The ones I could get my hands on)

Yay! I finished my Christmas present shopping this afternoon, so I just had a small food shop to do and I'm set for Christmas. I'm planning to drop Nick down to the bus at 7.30am and then go to the supermarket. There is no way I want to try venturing out later in the day.

I ordered a few of the gorgeous KBShimmer Christmas polishes. They are my first KBShimmers and I fell in love. In fact when the Christmas polishes came back in stock... I ordered the rest. So expect to see a KBShimmer Christmas post from me after Christmas!

One I had to try out immediately was Wrappers Delight. It's the traditional Christmas mix and absolutely stunning. I've used one coat in these swatches.

Wrappers Delight over OPI Live and Let Die

Wrappers Delight over OPI Goldeneye
Wrappers Delight is a traditional mix but it's chunkier than over traditional red, green and gold glitters that I own, which makes it stand out.

Candy Cane Crush over CG Something Sweet
Once again this was only one coat of polish. I decided to go for a sickly sweet mani and layer Candy Cane Crush over a pastel pink. I love the colours, I love the added chunky glitters that make it stand out in my collection...but I'm not sure I love the scent of Candy Cane Crush. It smells of sweet vanilla and mint. Unfortunately the scent reminds me of something that makes me feel queasy... I'm not exactly sure what the memory is linked to... but I feel a little ill every time I smell the polish. Good thing my nails aren't next to my nose all day! But it did make painting my nails not so fun.

Berry Christmas
Berry Christmas is my fave of the polishes I bought. It has fantastic pigmentation and the colours are gorgeous. Unfortunately my pics don't do it justice...so you'll just have to believe me... Berry Christmas is stunning.

Dollish Polish: Fra-Gee-Lay...Must Be Italian

Well it's a rainy day here and Nick has a sore throat and seems to think he's dying.
I'm trying out the blogger app on my new iPad mini... I'm not used to seeing HTML, well I haven't had to look at it since school. So we shall see how this goes!

Ideally I'd love to be able to post from the iPad.

I was ver restrained when the Dollish Polish Christmas Story polishes were released. Although they were all in stock... I only ordered one. The most Christmasy looking in my opinion.

Dollish Polish Fra-Gee-Lay...Must be Italian over Sally Hansen Without a Stitch

I've actually worn Fra-Gee-Lay twice now over the Christmas period. As you can see it looks great over a neutral base, but I also wore it on the last day of school over CG Glittering Garland and Cranberry Splash. The kids approved of my Christmas nails!

Ninja Polish: Christmas

Day two of the holidays!

I went shopping again today... this time with mum. I now only have two children left to shop for. I've done everyone else. The shops were starting to get a little crazy. I spent almost 4 hours shopping with mum. She was addament that I was going to find something I wanted for Christmas and we had a few other people to buy for.

The best part of our day was finding some awesome clothes for mum. She finds buying clothes difficult... so to leave with 2 cardigans, 2 shorts and 2 shirts perfect for her holiday to Dubai, Spain and England next year... well it was a highlight for both of us :)

Anyway today I thought I'd share the two Ninja Polish Christmas polishes I picked up. I wanted more than two... but I practiced restraint.

Candy Can Floam, 3 coats.

Melted Snowman, 1 coat over CG Peachy Keen
I still have no idea what my Christmas mani will be... but I'm trying to get through as many Christmas themed polishes as I can before Christmas!

OPI: Bond Magnetics

It's the holidays!

School has finished for the year and it's a beautiful sunny day.
I'm planning to spend the first day of the holidays swatching and heading in to Wellington to hang out with Lani from Lani Loves at a make up sale event. I'm not sure I'll be purchasing anything, but I do still have one lady in my life to shop for.

Back in November I ordered the magnetic Bond polishes. These were selling for $40 in New Zealand so when I found them online for $8.50(USD) I snapped them up.

Morning, Moneypenny

Is that Silva?

Bond...James Bond
I love the polish colours and formulas. Is That Silva? and Morning, Moneypenny both have gorgeous holo glitter sprinkled throughout. I'm not so keen on the magnet that came with Morning, Moneypenny. the magnets were however easy to use and I was impressed with the diagonal lines (my favourite kind of magnetic pattern) and the other pattern....fishnet? criss cross? squiggles...? What ever you want to call it, it's a nice pattern I didn't already own.

My Birthday Mani!

My Birthday may have been a week ago... but I'm finally posting my amazing (if I do say so myself) Birthday Mani.

Picture Polish Tease

I started with 2 coats of Picture Polish Tease... WOW new favourite pink. Seriously Tease is amazing. The formula was fab and the sparkle is stunning. I'm developing quite the Picture Polish addiction.

Picture Polish Tease topped with Girly Bits Ornamental My Dear Watson
What birthday mani is complete without multi coloured glitter? I chose Girly Bits Ornamental My Dear Watson. Ornamental My Dear Watson may have been released for Christmas... But I plan to wear it any chance I get! I'll post swatches later in the week so you can see just how gorgeous it is.

I couldn't stop looking at my nails with this pretty and rather sparkly combo!

Color Club: Winter Affair

I have a cat that has decided that sitting between me and the keyboard is the perfect resting place.
It is rather difficult to type when Smokey keeps attacking my hand!

Anyway I'll struggle on.

I have been loving rich jewel coloured foils and metallics this year, but I was missing a green... So I was super excited to see Color Clubs holiday offering. I finally settled on three I couldn't live without.

Ho-ho-holly

Glitter Wonderland

Gift of Sparkle
I'm currently wearing Gift of Sparkle on my toes. I'd share...but toes are icky (no really I really don't like feet...). I've layered Gift of Sparkle over CG LOL and it is amazing. I'll have to swatch on my fingers for everyone to see....if you have the two polishes try it out. you'll be in love.
So that's 2 coats of CG LOL followed by 1 coat of Color club Gift of Sparkle. be prepared to fall in love and never want to change your nails again...well maybe for a day or two!
