My Birthday Mani!

My Birthday may have been a week ago... but I'm finally posting my amazing (if I do say so myself) Birthday Mani.

Picture Polish Tease

I started with 2 coats of Picture Polish Tease... WOW new favourite pink. Seriously Tease is amazing. The formula was fab and the sparkle is stunning. I'm developing quite the Picture Polish addiction.

Picture Polish Tease topped with Girly Bits Ornamental My Dear Watson
What birthday mani is complete without multi coloured glitter? I chose Girly Bits Ornamental My Dear Watson. Ornamental My Dear Watson may have been released for Christmas... But I plan to wear it any chance I get! I'll post swatches later in the week so you can see just how gorgeous it is.

I couldn't stop looking at my nails with this pretty and rather sparkly combo!

Color Club: Winter Affair

I have a cat that has decided that sitting between me and the keyboard is the perfect resting place.
It is rather difficult to type when Smokey keeps attacking my hand!

Anyway I'll struggle on.

I have been loving rich jewel coloured foils and metallics this year, but I was missing a green... So I was super excited to see Color Clubs holiday offering. I finally settled on three I couldn't live without.

Ho-ho-holly

Glitter Wonderland

Gift of Sparkle
I'm currently wearing Gift of Sparkle on my toes. I'd share...but toes are icky (no really I really don't like feet...). I've layered Gift of Sparkle over CG LOL and it is amazing. I'll have to swatch on my fingers for everyone to see....if you have the two polishes try it out. you'll be in love.
So that's 2 coats of CG LOL followed by 1 coat of Color club Gift of Sparkle. be prepared to fall in love and never want to change your nails again...well maybe for a day or two!

Orly: Naughty or Nice

A quick post this morning. I'll be back later in te afternoon for a longer post. Hopefully my shopping expedition goes well!

Another set of polishes I ordered in November for the upcoming holiday season were three of  the Orly Naughty or Nice collection.

I ordered them as a set and they came with lace gloves... that may or may not be used for a Halloween  A costume is the only thing I can see them being used for. Maybe the juniors at school would like them for their dress up.

Anyway on to polish!

Miss-conduct
Miss-conduct received a lot of hype in polish land. A holo tends to do that though! Miss-conduct is pretty enough and I will most definitely be wearing it a bit... but it didn't steal my heart.

Angel Eyes
Angel Eyes on the other hand did steal my heart. What can I say I have a thing for blues. I was unimpressed by Angel Eyes in the bottle... but at three coats on the nail I'm in love love love. Look at those pretty iridescent glitters mixed in with the blue.

Halo
Halo is another I didn't feel much for when I saw it in the bottle. But on the nail Halo surprised me. I actually really like the subtle bling. If bling can ever be subtle! Once again this was three coats. In the sun it looks as though you could see a lot of my natural nail... but in all honesty that's just my camera. The bling of the glitter hid my nail quite happily.

NOPI: Kardashian Kolors Holiday 2012

Still no birthday nails... I may save them for Saturday, for my postponed birthday day.
Nick has said I'm allowed to go and buy something technological for my birthday on Saturday... He doesn't know about the shoes I ordered from Hannahs...What can I say? I shop when I'm sad. I'm an addict.
(NZ girls seriously check out the Hannahs website and their sales section. It's buy one get one half price with free shipping over $50. I got 6 pairs of shoes for $75)

Anyway here are some Christmas polishes. Christmas polish makes everyone happy! I've actually had these polishes since early November. In fact I wore A Gold Winters Night to Nicks Christmas function on the 5th of November.

A Gold Winters Night, 2 Coats over CG Jingle Bells

All is Glam, All is Bright, 2 coats

Kardashing Through the Snow over CG Exotic Encounters

Just a quick one...

No polish to look at this morning.

I just wanted to explain my lack of birthday mani posting.

I had a pretty bad birthday to be honest.

Little Bumble Bee started to get sick again. So I spent a lot of the day cleaning up after her.
Then yesterday morning she got worse and she had to be put to sleep.

So I've decided my birthday is now on Saturday.

Glitzology: Starry Night

Another Gliztology polish to share today.

Yes I'm procrastinating doing my reports. I have comments to write for the kids that are not at the National Standard.... I hate writing those comments. Who wants to tell a 7 year old they are failing? I mean, never mind that they were reading at 6.5 years and now they're reading at 8 years... it's still under the standard. National Standards suck. So I'm trying to think of the right wording etc...

Anyway Glitzology Starry Night.

This polish is so gorgeous. It's so sparkly, and the stars weren't a pain to get out. I've used one coat over Revlon Royal.

Glitzology Starry Night
We're  going out for tea tonight to celebrate my birthday tomorrow.

Argh.... I'm getting old. 27 tomorrow. I have the most awesome polish on for my birthday mani though. Can't wait to show everyone tomorrow.

Glitzology: Mrs Grinch

Normally by this point in December I'd have had my Christmas tree up for at least a week. There would be presents wrapped under the tree and I would be waiting on the last of the Christmas shopping to arrive via the post.

This December is rather different. My tree went up on Thursday night. I've bought no presents. I even declared Christmas cancelled at one point. I've also cancelled my birthday on Monday, so Christmas is in good company.

Report writing had really gotten me down and I'm starting to feel like the biggest Grinch.

Good thing I ordered this gorgeous polish to match my mood!

As soon as Mrs Grinch arrived I declared this was going to be my mani all of December. Not only is it stunning, it's also Christmasy and if anyone asked I could tell them it's Grinch inspired and Christmas is cancelled.

Glitzology Mrs Grinch, 2 coats alone.
I know you can see my nails....shock and horror.. but I actually love this polish alone. Sure I could have added an extra coat but it just looked so pretty at two coats.

Glitzology Mrs Grinch, 1 coat over CG Gaga for Green
I then layered Mrs Grinch over CG Gaga for green. In all honesty this is probably how I'll wear it from now on. So bright....it's like an animated film version of Christmas colours.

I actually do love Christmas, and I can't wait till I have finished my report writing and can just enjoy the build up to Christmas.
