NYX Round Lipsticks: More New Shades

About 6 months a go NYX released some new shades in their popular Round Lipsticks. I love the NYX Round Lipsticks. Yeah, it's a pain I have to order them from Cherry Culture, Beauty Joint or ebay... but they're still crazy good value compared to the price I'd need to pay here for the range of colours and awesme pigmentation. I love colour... NYX Round Lipsticks come in such a massive range of colours... and I may own a large amount of those colours... There's always something that matches the look I want.

A Busy Week and Haulage!

Wow! I couldn't have imagined what a busy week this week would end up being.

School is crazy as parent teacher conferences are coming up, It was Nicks birthday on Thursday, Nick had his work conference this weekend, we also had to babysit the cat while my parents were at a funeral and then pick them up this afternoon. We were supposed to do food shopping...but it started hailing so I decided against that.
I've also being working on putting the wedding photos into a photobook. I had a coupon that gave me a 40 page book for $35 instead of $109....but it expired on the 9th of August. Luckily I finished that today. Now I should probably start on the masses of written comments I need to do for every child for the parent teacher confrences. Seriously National Standards are not cool.

Anyway haulage! These are the parcels that were waiting for me when I arrived home from Rarotonga. It was Christmas! I'm still waiting on an order with some Zoyas to arrive...but everything else came :)

The first lot was a Beauty Joint order of Klean Colors and Nyx lipsticks.

Metallic Black, Orange, Fuschia, Purple, Sapphire, Aqua and Green.

Black, Bridal Shower, Winter Wonderland, Holo Chrome, Glamour Barbie and 2012  Apocalypse. 

Nyx Round lipsticks in Tweed, Chic, Hot Pink and Chic Red.

Nyx Matte lipstick in Strawberry Daiquri and Black labels in Adore and Plum.

 Then I had a few ebay orders.

Orly Fowl Play and China Glaze Fortune Teller

Ok so I bought Orly Fowl Play before we left but I had taken a picture of it yet and Fortune Teller looked lonely. I plan to buy Nite Owl and Peacock from the Orly Birds of a Feather collection tomorrow. Buy one get one free at Farmers!

Hopefully this coming week I'll get time to post pics of my holiday nails, the awards I haven't forgotten about, a few more wedding snaps and holiday pics. Rartonga was so beautiful that I must keep sharing.

Nyx Girls Polish: Tropical Tones

Today should be Monday...but you never know when you schedule posts! Monday is a public Holiday in Rarotonga so I thought I'd show some tropical toned Nyx Girls polishes I bought recently.

Pistachio

Seriously love this fresh turquoisey minty shade. It's such a pretty clean look on your nails. Perfect for a day at the beach...or any other occasion!

Lapis

Gorgeous jelly like blue. The sky should be blue and the sea should be blue...whilst I'm sunbathing... In all seriousness Lapis is a very pretty polish. It does remind me of Essies Lapis of Luxury but i think that's more the name and consistency not the colour.

Mermaid Green

Oh!!! I love Mermaid Green. I thought it might be dupey for CG Four leaf Clover...but at least when I compare the bottles it's not. it's a gorgeous jewel toned bright green with a smidge of blue in it. Hhighly awesome colour. I hope it doesn't stain.

Golden Lavender

Golden lavender reminds me of pictures I've seen of Zoya Zara. Gorgeous paled purple/lavender tone with so much gold shimmer shot through it. Seriously the golden shimmer is amazing!

Nyx Girls Polish: Dorothy

Well I should be in Rarotonga, Cook Islands sipping on a delicious cocktail in the sun...hurriedly trying to finish making wedding favours and making sure everything is going to plan. I'll be able to fully relax on Saturday!

I bought Dorothy for my mum. I have Deborah Lippmann Ruby Red Slippers and thought she'd love one too. The Lippmanns a little expensive so when I saw the Nyx Girls Polish on special I ordered Dorothy for mum. She squealed excitably when I gave it to her. Almost as much as she squealed when I gave her a black creme polish.

Dorothy is a black jelly with large red hex glitter and smaller red glitter. A very pretty polish, I'd be more inclined to wear it over a black creme. This was only 2 coats though not 3.

Pink Wednesday with Nyx

Well I should actually be in the air between Wellington and Auckland if this posts at the correct time!
Our international boarding is at Wellington Airport so we have to leave at 6am to get there on time.
we'll have a bit of time spare in Auckland airport, but that's better than cutting it so close you're running.

When we arrive in the Cook Islands it will be  Tuesday. Even though we left on Wednesday! Got to love the international date line. Nick says the Cook islands are 22 hours behind us. I've been saying they're 2 hours ahead yesterday. I mean come on, isn't it easier to add 2 hours than to take away 22 to find out the time?
Apparently I'm illogical, he's the one marrying me though!

Anyway I wont actually be wearing pink today but I have been saving Nyx Paradise Nude to show you.
i thought it was the perfect pink to show you all as I'm on my way to Rarotonga to get married in paradise.

Paradise Nude

I had a few issues with patience and applying too much polish to my nails....but i'm sure you get the idea of the colour! just ignore my mistakes. Paradise nude isn't a very special pink, it's actually kind of boring. bright pink creme. But it's a really nice pink! And who doesn't want to be nude in paradise...

NYX Round Lipsticks: New Shades

Thank you to everyone who entered my giveaway. There were 166 individual entries. Over the next week I'll sort out all the extra entries and use random.org to generate a winner. I love NYX make up, so I'm looking forward to sharing some of my favourite items with a lucky winner!

On the theme of NYX make up I thought I'd share some swatches of the new Round Lipsticks I purchased from Beauty Joint. These are from the new colours that were released for summer.

Shiva

 I may as well start with my surprise favourite. I bought Shiva for mum, not me...turns out its amazing on me and not so much mum! I love Shiva it's the right balance of super hot pink and blue flash.

Haute Couture

 Haute Couture is one of those berry shades with a smidge of gold...that absolutely washes me out. It looks too dark on me and sends me deathly pale. It does however look fabulous on mum, who is who I bought it for.

Peach Bellini

 Yes I know awkward pic! But none of the others turned out so you can just ignore the awkwardness and looks art the colour. Peach Bellini has so much promise. Such an amazing colour...but the texture is awful. The shimmer in Peach Bellini seems to be larger and rougher than usual.

Blush

 Ah, pretty girly pink. Creamy and delicate. Blush is the perfect pink on me. Not too light or bright, a hint of nudeness. Perfect pink.

Iconic

Iconic is the perfect everyday lipstick for me. It's a much better match for my lips than Thalia. Thalia is slightly too mauvey and cool for me. Iconic however is the perfect pink nude for me.

I've never felt self conscious about hair on my face, but my new cameras macro is evil for lip swatches. I was debating not posting them. But hopefully everyone was distracted by the pretty colours!

I ordered a few more of the new Round Lipstick colours, so hopefully they'll be here next week :)

Nyx Girls Polish: The ones I haven't shown...One of them's pink.

Well it's of course Wednesday...So that means pink. I'm still just using China Glaze Calcium Fortifier on my nails. That has a pink tinge in the bottle...?

But luckily I have some more Nyx Girls polishes to show. These are most definitely the brightest of the bunch I have! One of them's a pink...so it counts for Pink Wednesday...

Bermuda Triangle...more aqua toned, but you know those colours are horrible to capture!

Blue Ink...a creme compared to Ink Hearts jelly.

Rum Punch...pink...PINK

Grapefruit...Who eats grapefruit this colour...? Pretty neon red all the same.

Bubblegum...ok seriously in my mind bubblegum is pink. Yea I knew I was ordering a yellow, I just hoped it was more opaque.

Quick Haul-erific Post

I've still been struggling with this head cold and I have a meeting tonight at the bank. Which hopefully leads to me having money...so hopefully we get to go out for dinner!

I have an afternoon tea for my wedding this Saturday and then a few of the girls are spending the night in the city with ideas of seeing a movie, eating and maybe some drinking...
So I'm not sure I'll get anything posted this weekend!

Wednesday was a super awesome day for me. I came home to 3 parcels. One was a book, one was my beautfiul Lord of the Rings blurays...extended versions that are sold out everywhere. The last was my Beauty Joint order. OMG Beauty Joint I love you. My parcel came so fast and was so well packaged. Seriously less than a week to get to New Zealand.

Nyx Girls Polish: The Glitters

When I placed y NYX order...ok orders...a wee while ago I went a little crazy on some of the gorgeous glitters that they have. I love all but one of these glitters, but I'll ramble about that some more soon. First some pictures!

Dreamy Glitter over Bella.

Dreamy Glitter is a very pretty glitter with iridescent larger hex's and small glitters and large pink stars. Very pretty and very girly. I had no trouble fishing the hearts out which was great!

Gilded Glitter over Hunter Green

Gilded Glitter is pretty awesome. It really does look like 24k gold flakes have been carefully placed on to your nails. This was one coat.

Sparkles over Black

I kind of hope that Sparkles would be the silver version of Gilded Glitter. It's not. These glitter pieces are very much so regular. It's still a pretty true silver glitter.

Carnival over Ink Heart

Well Carnival is yet another Happy Birthday look a like. I might donate it to mum, try and convince her to wear some glitters! I already own Happy Birthday and Milani Gems (the pink glitter version) so I'm not sure I need Carnival as well.

Alps Bunny over Finger Paint Carnation Creation

This is the only one not pictured over another NYX girls polish. I just happened to be playing with the Finger Paints polish and thought Alps Bunny would look pretty. Alps Bunny is a pretty glitter topper, it reminds me of Color Club Starry Temptress, which I love.

Enchanted Forest over Bermuda Triangle

So much promise... But argh, I hate this polish. This is 3 coats. 3 watery impossibly horrible coats. There are larger hex's in there somewhere, but I tried and tried to fish one out... It was just too thin. Maybe I'll leave the lid off a few days and hope it goes tackier... It was just such an awful water consistency

Grand Royal over Blue Ink

Grand Royal reminds me of Revlon Belle. Its a pretty silver glitter with larger hex glitter. This was one coat.
It could be built up more, but I haven't tried it out.

Dynamic Glitter over Grapefruit

Dynamic Glitter is very reminicsent off OPI Teenage Dream, I'll have to do a comparison at some point. Other than that...at one coat it looks very much like the pink version of Grand Royal.

I didn't try any of these polishes alone. I felt they were best as layering polishes, so I can't tell you if any can achieve opaqueness.

Nyx Girls Polish: The Browns

Well it's Tuesday morning. Tuesday is my least favourite day of the week. I'm on duty morning tea and first half of lunch, then we have a staff meeting. It just feels busy and full on. I don't get a break until the second half of lunch. So I don't have that chance to sort things out if I need to. At least I have teacher aide time this morning. Hopefully I'll be able to keep doing some reading testing.

Anyway enough of me moaning about Tuesday...here's some more Nyx Girls polishes. The browner shades today. My mum has actually claimed most of these, but that's ok they're not too far away if I want them.
