OPI: Bond Magnetics

It's the holidays!

School has finished for the year and it's a beautiful sunny day.
I'm planning to spend the first day of the holidays swatching and heading in to Wellington to hang out with Lani from Lani Loves at a make up sale event. I'm not sure I'll be purchasing anything, but I do still have one lady in my life to shop for.

Back in November I ordered the magnetic Bond polishes. These were selling for $40 in New Zealand so when I found them online for $8.50(USD) I snapped them up.

I love the polish colours and formulas. Is That Silva? and Morning, Moneypenny both have gorgeous holo glitter sprinkled throughout. I'm not so keen on the magnet that came with Morning, Moneypenny. the magnets were however easy to use and I was impressed with the diagonal lines (my favourite kind of magnetic pattern) and the other pattern....fishnet? criss cross? squiggles...? What ever you want to call it, it's a nice pattern I didn't already own.

Color Club: Magnetic Force

Just a quick post this morning to make up for my lack of posting.

We had a very busy weekend. Nick had his work conference...that was interesting...

I bought five of the Color Club Magnetic Force polishes way back when they were first released. I swatched them on a finger each... then added them to my 'swatch those later pile', where they stayed for months.

Well I finally have swatches of them! I have used the China glaze magnetic to created the star, chevron and diagonal lines. The Color Club magnetic is the wave on my pinky.

China Glaze: Magnetix

I am in love with magnetic polishes.

I'm lazy. I like to paint my nails and be done with it. no fluffing about stamping or adding dots and stripes for me. So when the powers of polish come out with awesome quick ways to make my nails stand out....I jump on that bandwagon. I love shatter and I love magnetics.

One of the first mainstream companies to do magnetic polishes was China Glaze and in all honesty I swatched these polishes quite awhile a go.

Attraction
Pull Me Close
Instant Chemistry
Cling On
You Move Me
Drawn to You
Sorry my pictures don't show all the magnets equally....I love the diagonal stripes. They look so clean and uniform. The chevron just never seems to work the way i want it to and the star is awesome, but I just don't love it like I do the stripes!

I'd have to say my favourite polish is Pull Me Close and my least favourite was Attraction. I thought I'd love Attraction but it's just too dark for me. I'm just not a black polish girl. I had two surprises in the collection. I just didn't expect to love Instant Chemistry or Cling On. Cling on was the first of the magnetics I wore. I layered over Essie Armed and Ready and fell in love. I really am loving the olive tones that are popular now.

Color Club Magnetic Force

I've been having bad luck with my nails lately. At least the nails on my swatching hand anyway!
Broke my pinky... broke my ring finger... I'm still trying to pretend my ring finger isn't broken. I've been taping it. It's broken half way across though, so I doubt I'll be able to pretend much longer.

It's a shame, I have so many awesome polishes to swatch. I'll have to take some haul pics of everything I can't swatch. Luckily I have a stash of photos I haven't posted yet, so I still have enough to keep my blog running.

One of the awesome collections I have but can't swatch at the moment is the Color Club Magnetic Force collection. I have to show everyone these polishes. If you're anything like me, you saw the promo pics and thought boring! The colours looked blah and rather ugly. I ordered 5 of them anyway. I just didn't order the grey/black. To be honest I'm so glad I ordered them...they are stunning. Especially the green Sci-Fi which just looked ugly to me in the promo pics.

Thumb to pinky: Magnetic Force, Electro-Midnight, Hipnotic, Sci-Fi and Cop an Attitude.

You can't see but Sci-Fi has an amazing gold glittery shimmer in it. I'm honestly impressed with these polishes. They are so much prettier than I expected and really easy to use. I just wish I could get decent swatches of them! Argh. Bet by the time my nails grow out the sun will be gone.

Valentines: Drawn to You

I feel like I haven't had much of a breather this week. Meetings at school until 7.30pm on Monday and Tuesday and doing some design work for my parents has pretty much taken all my free time.

We won't talk about the house and the mess it is in.

Lucky for me I received an amazing package on Monday. I didn't get a chance to open it until Tuesday...
But OMG my China Glaze Magnetix arrived. Drool!

I suck at nail art...aka I don't have the patience, so I love shatter and I now love magnetic polishes. Anything that looks amazing yet takes me minimal time and effort is awesome.

In honour of my pretty non existant Valentines Day...I had a meeting then fell asleep...here's China Glaze Drawn to You.

And yes those are unedited photo's...I just really am that exhausted and about ready to fall asleep.

Hope everyone had an awesome Valentines....ate candy and chocolate and enjoyed all things red and pink. That's far too many and's for one sentence...
