Color Club: Celebration! My Picks of the Bunch

Thank goodness it's a long weekend!

I have been so exhausted lately, my poor nails had the same polish on for 4 whole days and now they've been naked for two. I just seem to have a complete lack of energy to do anything in the evenings.

I meant to post these gorgeous polishes a wee while ago...but it didn't happen. They sat in my drafts, waiting patiently.

Color club has been really intriguing me lately, I actually like the new bottles and I love they're bringing out polishes with so many different finishes.

The celebrations collection is awesome, a polish for every milestone. I went for the gorgeous milky, black and white glitter, baby themed polishes.

I decided to layer the polishes, but they can be built up to opacity.

Bundle of Joy over New Bohemian

My Girl over Je T'aime

Oh Boy! over In De-Nile

Of course Bundle of Joy is my favourite! It had the perfect amount of glitter. My girl didn't have enough and Oh Boy had too much...but Bundle of Joy was just right.

Color Club: Paris In Love Collection

I'm trying to get back into the swing of blogging. Life tends to get in the way, but I'm still wearing polish everyday and taking pretty pics of my polishes. So I should try to get them on here!

I haven't been feeling much love towards most of the mainstream brands current collections. I only bought 3 from the OPI Brazil collection and passed completely on the most recent China Glaze collections. I had to buy this gorgeous collection from Color Club though!

I have really been enjoying the recent Color Club collections. If I'd gotten round to posting my best of 2013, I'd have included the Girl About Town collection as one of my favourite mainstream collections.

Anyway, on to the Paris in Love collection!
Paris in Love consists of 6 gorgeous cremes. I was a bit worried the formula would be interesting, given that they're rather on the pastel side, but the formula was excellent on all of them. They make me want ice cream though!

Fondue For Two
Two easy coats of gorgeous milk chocolate. Not really my colour, but will be awesome for nail art. I can just see Neapolitan ice cream stripes.

Je Ne Sais Quoi
This is the odd one of the bunch. It doesn't make me think of ice cream, in fact it makes me think of mustard. I rather like it though. Again two easy coats.

Je T'aime
This is where I started doing three coats. Nothing really new about a pink creme, but this one had a surprisingly better formula than I was expecting and it looks so cute with the other polishes in the collection.

La Petite Mint-sieur
Ooooo. Now it's getting more exciting. I'm in love with this shade of minty green. Absolutely stunning and three perfect coats. I'm undecided whether this is my favourite or Holy Chic!

Macroon Swoon
A pale yellow that isn't problematic? Yes please. Three easy coats again.

Holy Chic!
And... Periwinkle! This polish is the reason I jumped in and bought the collection. There weren't any swatch pics up...but the hope of a pretty periwinkle blue was enough for me. Three easy coats of perfection.

You can find the Paris in Love collection on head2toe.

Now I'm looking out eagerly for the Poptastic Remix collection to pop up there!
And then I can finally order Wild Cactus... I somehow managed to leave it out of my order this time.

Color Club: Bright Night, In Theory and Abyss

Argh! I can't believe it is the end of the holidays already.
2 weeks go by so quickly. the good news is that we've had lots of sunshine (despite the rain at the start of the holidays), so I have managed to get lots of swatching done.

A few weeks ago I ordered a few polishes from Head2toe. I picked up a few polishes from the China Glaze summer and spring collections, three from the Essie summer collection and three from the Color Club. I'm super impressed with the three I picked up from Color Club.

The three I choose were from the Summer Kaleidoscope collection.

Bright Night
Bright Night is a super pigmented blue. I love blues, it's the blue eyed thing, but blues tend to look good to me. I've been looking for a nice bold, bright blue and Bright night fills that spot. I used two coats here.

In Theory
In Theory is a pretty creamy, squishy orange. Not my normal go to colour... but a pretty shade for the warmer months. Three coats.

Abyss
If I could only buy one summer polish it would be Abyss. I'm am crazy in love with this colour. Not only is Abyss super pigmented but it is an insanely beautiful shade of green as well. After swatching the three color clubs, I applied Abyss and wore it for 5 days. Yes 5 days... That's an enternity for a polish addict. Ok so on day three I added Dollish Polish Inconceivable... but 5 days. And tip wear was minimal.

China Glaze: Bitz n Pieces

Argh. I can't believe that it's Sunday already!

It's been another crazy busy week. Any time I wasn't at school was spent looking at cars or marking tests. In fact I've been so busy that over the last 2 weeks I've only painted my nails 3 times. That's a drastic difference compared to my usual every night.

I left my camera at school on Friday. We were lucky enough to have the circus visit with a group of contortionists. Honestly it was amazing to watch the 15min show they put on for the kids. So I took some pictures...then forgot about my camera until I went to use it on Saturday...

I have some great manis to share as well!

My looking at cars nails... and my Valentines day nails.

Today though I have swatches of the awesome Bitz n Pieces polishes from China Glaze. I admit when I first saw the promo's I was like...umm meh. They just looked like glitters. But they're in fact awesome glitter toppers. I'm not sure I need them in every colour... But they sure are a fun way to spice up a mani.

Scattered and Tattered over a nude...
Bling it On over Essie Nice is Nice
Grafitti Glitter over Color Club Twiggie
Mosaic Madness over a very pretty blue... I wish I could remember what I used. It looks super pretty!
Glitz N Poeces over LA Colors Seafoam
Razzle me, Dazzle me over SH First Kiss
Eeeek. Without my camera I can't remember some of the polishes I used for undies! I'll have to track it down on Monday. What is happening to me? I normally keep an insane amount of polish knowledge stored in my head... I hope looking at cars hasn't overwritten it!
I shouldn't know car makes and models...

Color Club: Winter Affair

I have a cat that has decided that sitting between me and the keyboard is the perfect resting place.
It is rather difficult to type when Smokey keeps attacking my hand!

Anyway I'll struggle on.

I have been loving rich jewel coloured foils and metallics this year, but I was missing a green... So I was super excited to see Color Clubs holiday offering. I finally settled on three I couldn't live without.

Ho-ho-holly

Glitter Wonderland

Gift of Sparkle
I'm currently wearing Gift of Sparkle on my toes. I'd share...but toes are icky (no really I really don't like feet...). I've layered Gift of Sparkle over CG LOL and it is amazing. I'll have to swatch on my fingers for everyone to see....if you have the two polishes try it out. you'll be in love.
So that's 2 coats of CG LOL followed by 1 coat of Color club Gift of Sparkle. be prepared to fall in love and never want to change your nails again...well maybe for a day or two!

Color Club Holos

I climbed a mountain yesterday.

It is outdoor week this week at school. So not only am I still trying to finish report writing...I'm also physically exhausted. But really I did climb a mountain yesterday. We did a 3 hour hike, up a mountain, down a mountain, to a dam and then to a park. The pedometer on my phone says I did 18,000 steps.

Today is another big walking day. We are doing a photo scavenger hunt around the community.

With being outside all week and the gorgeous sun we are getting I'm very much so feeling holos.
I thought I'd pass on the new Color Club holos... you know wait for the China Glaze ones...
But I'm an addict. I'm so glad I bought them. They are amazing.

Blue Heaven

Cherubic

Harp On It

Cloud Nine

Angel Kiss
For some odd reason I didn't purchase Halo-graphic. Maybe if Santa is reading he could bring me one!

Anyway off to spend another day walking around in the sun.

We've had little Bumble Bee 2 weeks now, so I'll update with some pics of her in the weekend :)
