Dollish Polish: Princess Bride

As many people know, I'm a teacher. I teacher year 3 and 4 children and I love it.
Unfortunately I don't love everything about this time of year... the amount of testing and reporting I need to do. Although I love the sunshine, getting outside for sports in the afternoons and outdoor week is always a highlight of the year.

Every week we have a singing practice as part of our arts programme. We take turns to choose the music and recently the kids have been learning such songs as Star Trekkin', The Fox and The Never Ending Story.

Yes we are terrible people we taught the 102 children in the middle school The Fox. and they love it! They sing it beautifully.

Anyway.... back on topic! The Never Ending story is fast becoming one of their favourite songs to sing (after The Fox of course) so for golden time on Friday afternoon we starting watching the first movie.

They love watching 80's movies.

I'm keen to have an 80's day next year with them and show them the Princess Bride, which in my opinion is one of the best movies ever!

I love TV. I love movies. I love seeing the costumes, the sets, the story unfold...
At the moment I'm on a total sensory overload. All the TV shows I want to watch have started up again. I just don't know what to watch first!

One TV series I never got into though was Big Bang Theory. I tried, I really did. I didn't make it far into season two though.

Anyway...I may not have enjoyed the TV series...but I do love the polishes!

Dollish Polish, Unicorns, Rainbows and My Anniversary

Well I was supposed to post this yesterday... But after all the earthquake excitement I forgot.

The biggest drama in New Zealand at the moment was the 6.5 earthquake that hit us on Sunday evening. Luckily it was off the coast, so the impact wasn't as great as it could have been, but as anyone who has experienced a  decent shake will know....it's really scary!

We had a couple of 5 point somethings on Friday and Sunday morning...then bam, 6.5. We're still getting quakes every 15min or so, but the majority have been undetectable. And I slept through the decent one last night. 

Talking to other people, we were very lucky with the quake. The only things that fell at our place were 3 lego cars... on wheels off the very top shelf.

Anyway on to my original post....

Yesterday was my 2nd Wedding Anniversary!!!

Dollish Polish A Unicorn Farted in My Polish over China Glaze Fancy Pants

 Fancy Pants was the perfect base for A Unicorn Farted in My Polish. Every time I looked at my nails I imagined a magical rainbow in the sky. Such a fun combination. The shimmer in fancy Pants really added to the mani as well. I rested A Unicorn Farted in My Polish upside down for a bit before applying it, and I didn't need to fish the larger shapes out.

I wish I was in Rarotonga now... it'd be way more fun to be snorkeling and sunbathing than writing reports and getting ready for parent teacher interviews.

Darling Diva: The Hot Chick

Every so often you come across an amazing polish, that inspires you...and a manicure masterpiece is born.

That is what happened to me recently...

I was sitting at home (drinking) wearing khaki jeans, a cream blouse and a rose cardigan.

I had just painted my nails in Dollish Polish Zombie Flesh. As my nails were drying, and I'd finished my drink, I thought I'd go check the mail box. 

I didn't have high expectations of my mail box expedition... But zomg, there in the mail box was my Darling Diva order.i raced back inside, poured another drink, checked my polish was dry, and tore into my parcel. I was super excited. Then I saw it...

The gorgeous pink neon glitter topper I'd ordered, The Hot Chick.

She was even more beautiful than I'd imagined. Various sizes of neon pink glitter and iridescent glitters, suspended perfectly in a clear base...

Maybe it was the shot of jäger I decided to do... Maybe it was the polish gods guiding me... But I felt a sudden inspiration to apply The Hot Chick to my mani of Zombie Flesh...

I created a masterpiece.

Zombie Flesh was the perfect base to accentuate the neon pink glitters and let the iridescent glitters shine. 

As you can tell I was completely in love with this mani, even when I sobered up the next day.

I wore these stunning polishes to the Cosi Club quiz night with Nicks sister, our 7 year old nephew and Nick. There were 15 teams...and we came second! 

We were winning right up until the last round... Sports. Not our specialty? 

So not only were they gorgeous nails, but lucky nails as well.

Dollish Polish: Fra-Gee-Lay...Must Be Italian

Well it's a rainy day here and Nick has a sore throat and seems to think he's dying.
I'm trying out the blogger app on my new iPad mini... I'm not used to seeing HTML, well I haven't had to look at it since school. So we shall see how this goes!

Ideally I'd love to be able to post from the iPad.

I was ver restrained when the Dollish Polish Christmas Story polishes were released. Although they were all in stock... I only ordered one. The most Christmasy looking in my opinion.

I've actually worn Fra-Gee-Lay twice now over the Christmas period. As you can see it looks great over a neutral base, but I also wore it on the last day of school over CG Glittering Garland and Cranberry Splash. The kids approved of my Christmas nails!

I love love love every polish in this collection, but my surprise favourite was We're Simply Meant to Be. I've worn it 3 times since I received it! I absolutely adore it over a light colour. Sweet Hook and Kinetic Candy are perfect bases.

Not a Halloween polish today, although I did just apply a generous helping of Naild it Hocus Bogus, so I'm rocking Halloween nails!

Welcome To Rapture is an awesome glitter bomb. It basically has every color of glitter you can imagine. Here I've added a coat to Essie No More Film.

Dollish Polish: Zombie Flesh

It's a week until Halloween so I thought it was about time I started posting some Halloween polishes!

Dollish Polish Zombie Flesh!

This is the newer formula. In all honesty I'd never thought about buying Zombie Flesh before, there was something about the colour that didn't appea to me at all. I thought it would look awful on me. But awhile back I was browsing the Dollish Polish store and saw it was in stock. So in to my cart it jumped and before I knew it Zombie Flesh was here.

I'm so glad Zombie Flesh jumped in to my cart, because its actually an incredibly flattering colour. Almost a neutral tone on me.

While Zombie Flesh isn't marketed as a Halloween polish it certainly fits in with the other polishes that have been released this year. And who doesn't love Zombies?

Nail Trends I've Been Rocking

Lately I keep reaching for the same kinds of polish. So today I thought I'd show everyone the polishes I've been wearing lately.

Neon Pinks. There is just something cheery about a neon pink mani. Even on cloudy days when I have too much work to do and not enough time to do it in. Neon pink always gives me pick me up.
