Darling Diva: Spam!

I have said so many times before that I'm in love with everything Darling Diva Polish. I love the wide array of polishes that are available, I love the reasonable shipping prices, I love the very reasonable prices on the polishes, but by far my favourite thing about the brand is the 5 for $25 lucky dips! It's like playing polish roulette...and every outcome is amazing.

Today's post is going to be Darling Diva Polish overload....
So sit back, relax and enjoy the pretty pictures.

Bonnie Lassi over CG Highlight of My Summer
Tiny Bubbles over CG Bahamian Blue
Ermehgerd over blue and pink
Nice List over OPI Strawberry Margarita

Booty Call
Dreamsicle
Pendragon over Pahlish Singing in the Garden
G-Spot
Wicked Attraction over OPI I Vant To Bite your Neck

The Hot Chik over LA Girl Idol
Wild Child over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls
All bar three of these polishes were 'lucky dips'. I specifically ordered The Hot Chick, Wild Child and G-Spot. The rest were just pleasant surprises!

Darling Diva Polish Spam

I've had an odd week. Just been feeling slightly off.
Tired and squeemy and I started to lose my voice last night. My darling husband was thrilled at this prospect...thanks darling!

My class have been fabulous. It is after all over half way through the term now, so they are getting tired and a little cranky. It doesn't help that it's winter and cold and flu season.

We've also had the biggest storm in a very, very long time hit our city.
A lot of schools were closed Friday (unfortunately not mine, and only 2 of my class stayed home! The class next door only had 15 kids. I had 23) and a lot of houses lost power. There's been a lot of damage, mostly trees falling and flooding. The winds reached 200km in some parts. A house round the corner from us lost their roof.

We were lucky. We lost power for 5minutes on the Thursday night and have spent most of the weekend snuggled up in the warm house. Aristotle even took to sleeping under the covers.

Today we have sunshine again! So what better way to celebrate sunshine than with Darling Diva Polish swatches.

BJ
Yes I realise that BJ is a totally innocent name. This polish was lovingly named after a real life BJ. But my mind goes elsewhere. I'm sorry to BJ, but I had to have this polish because of other connotations... After all my best relationship advice is give him a steak and bj...
Either way it is a stunningly gorgeous bright pink holo. Delicious.

Apple Crisp over Ninja Polish Ambrosia
Apple Crisp is such a fun polish. I love that it could be used as an alternative Christmas glitter and I love that it smells delicious. I'm not always a fan of scented polish...but this one is a nice scent and a very pretty glitter.

Bulmarae Cave over Dandy Nails Cashmere Night
These two polishes are the perfect combination. I love the dark glitters in Bulmarae Cave!

Drag Queen
Delicious red jelly with large hex and smaller glitters in red and gold. Very sparkly and very juicey.

Fat Bottomed Girls over OPI Suzi's Hungary Again
Pretty pink glitter with the odd larger glitter.

The Harbringer over OPI My Vampire is Buff
I love this polish so much more than I thought I would. It's such a pretty delicate glitter and I love the red glitters!

Darling Diva Polish: Release the Kraken v2

The last of my Darling Diva Polishes to share, well the last until I get more, is Release the Kraken v2.

Who can resist a creamy base filled with a bajillion different glitters? Umm....not me! I had to have RElease the Kraken as soon as I saw pictures... but as it was a super limited edition I knew I'd never get it.When DDP came out with v2 it jumped straight into my cart and gave me the perfect excuse to pic up 4 more polishes.

DDP RElease the Kraken v2 (3 coats)
Then I got a little creative... and applied a coat of Pink Shatter...

Release the Kraken v2 with OPI Pink Shatter
I like how the Pink Shatter is more of a jelly and allows the glitter from Release the Kraken v2 to show through. Very candy-esque.

Darling Diva Polish: Mitochondrial Eve

Today is Labour Day, so I get to sleep in. By sleep in I mean lie in bed from 6 am and play on my HP mini rather than get out of bed at 6 am like I normally would.

I have grand plans of swatching, planning for school, sorting my massive folders of reading and math resources, making a few games and maybe getting down to the shops... It's been awhile since I've been shopping somewhere other than the internet. I think my plans for today are rather ambitious .. Maybe I'll swatch and get planning done!

I have another Darling Diva Polish to share today! After this one there's only one left to post :( That obviously means I need to buy more...

Todays Darling Diva Polish is Mitochondrial Eve. Ha, try to say mitochondrial fast ten times...
Mitochondrial Eve is a gorgeous predominately green glitter with smatterings of other colours. Reminiscent of a garden or a certain hard to find glitter that is sold on ebay. I have no leeming for Salad Days now.

1 thin coat of Mitochondrial Eve over CG Four Leaf Clover

2 coats of Mitochondrial Eve over CG Four Leaf Clover
Ok so in real life this was a fab combo. Four Leaf Clover was the perfect match... it was bright and blingy and pure awesome. Then I tried to take photos. ARGH! Four Leaf Clover why must you be so hard to photograph and refuse to show your true colours!

So you'll just have to believe me that in real life they are a perfect match...

Darling Diva Polish: Just Keep Swimming

I'm in recovery mood today. We had drinks last night at our house.
So just a short post today, in between trying to tidy the house and nursing my headache.

Today I have a super fun polish to show. Darling Diva Polish Just Keep Swimming.
It's Finding Nemo inspired! So it had to swim into my cart.

I had a lot of trouble finding a base colour I liked to use with Just Keep Swimming. The base is blue tinted and there are dark blue, bright blue, neon yellow, black and white glitters. I tried it over white, of course the white glitter wasn't shown off to its best and the base looked odd to me. I tried it over CG Sky High but it was too dusty... I tried it over black but still didn't like it.

In the end I went to my good old favourite blue Sinful Colors Grecian Sun. I really should buy a back up.
I love this combo, so fun and bright and summer ready!

Did anyone else buy a 5 for $25 mystery pack from Darling Diva Polish? I did! I can't wait to see what awesomness arrives.

Darling Diva Polish: The Opera House

Today is the last day of the holidays.
Wow, two weeks goes so fast. At least the bad weather that we had yesterday seems to have passed.
Although it would have been nice not to have that awful rain! We were helping Nicks brother move house and the wind and rain didn't help.

I had planned to post all my DDP polishes this week... but I forgot to!
So today I have The Opra House for you.

The Opera House layered over Orly Au Champagne
THe Opera House is a very pretty combination of gold and pearly white glitters. Although the base is loaded with pearly white shimmer I decided to layer it rather than try and build up opacity. I really enjoyed this combination.

Darling Diva Polish: The 13th Colony

Wow, I'm over half way through my holidays and haven't achieved half of what I wanted to.
Last school holidays I was working most of the time trying to get portfolios (reports but much more work) done. So this school holidays I've kind of just wanted to do nothing.

I have managed to re-swatch my entire China Glaze collection though! That was no small feat.
I have also been working hard to get back into a good routine of exercise and healthier eating.
I still haven't manage to get into a good routine of doing the 30 day shred everyday, but I have been doing 20-30 min on the elliptical and trying to do at least a 30 min walk everyday. Unfortunately yesterday the weather turned against me.

Darling Diva Polish is one of the first indie brands I bought and not too long ago I made my second order.

Today I have The 13th Colony to show you.
I am somewhat a nerd when it comes to tv choices, but in all honesty I have never watched Battlestar Galatica, so I have no clue of the meaning behind the polish. All I knew was when I saw swatches of The 13th Colony I had to have it.

DDP The 13th Colony over Sinful Colours Athens
I love the mix of glitter, and this was only one coat of The 13th Colony. My favourite thing about the polish is white glitters, gorgeous.

I actually received my DDP order just after my Candeo order and as soon as I opened it my hear sank a little. I had been so excited about about The 13th Colony but when I opened my parcel I was immediately reminded of Candeo Dive Bomb.

But the good news is they are nothing alike!

Candeo Dive Bomb over aEngland Galahad
The similarity is that they both have blues and teals and copper. The difference is 13th Colony has white and green glitter, and the glitter is different sizes.

Totally worth owning both!

Indie: Darling Diva Polish

Last week my order of Darling Diva Polishes arrived. I was ohhing and ahing over the pretty glitters, dreaming of the layering combinations I could create...

Then I remembered I never posted the swatches I have of my pre-existing Darling Diva Polishes.

So here they are!

Cherry Jubilee
Cherry Jubilee is a polish I was worried would be thick and gluggy.  But it applied easily and looks perfect for Christmas! Yes I'm thinking about Christmas already!

Twilight Sparkle
Twilight Sparkle is a very pretty purple polish with blue, purple and white glitter strew through it. This was three coats and it applied easily... But didn't suit me at all!

Destiny
Destiny is my kind of colour! And it's also a very easy to work with polish. I wish I had more glitter on my nails, but I could have rolled the bottle for longer to acheive that. you can see all the pretty glitter down the bottom. I love the mix of gold glitter with the blue.

And in case anyone is wonder what was in the awesome parcel I received last week...

Just Keep Swimming, Mitochondrial Eve, Release the Kraken v2, The opera House and The 13th Colony. Keep an eye out for swatches in the next few weeks!
