Spring Green

Spring is two colours in my mind. Green and purple.
A gorgeous green that encapsulates the idea of Spring in my mind is Zoya Apple.

Zoya Apple
Just a quick post this morning, I should probably be getting ready to leave for work. I'm just not feeling so keen to leave as I have an observation today...not one of my favourite things.

Spring Holo's!

It's Spring! The weather is warming and it's lighter in the mornings. I don't have to drive to work in the dark.
I took down all the winter displays in my classroom today. It seems bizarre to think it snowed just a few weeks ago. Now it's gorgeously sunny and it's doing wonders for my disposition.

What better way to celebrate spring and sunshine than with some stunningholo's.

We'll start with the most recent China Glaze to my collection...TMI!!!

China Glaze TMI
And now for the OPI's. Blue Moon Lagoon and Crim-sun. Blue Moon Lagoon hasn't photographed as well as it could have...in all honesty it is the blingiest holo I have. It was blinding in the Spring sunshine. Amazing stunning and not as subtle as it appears. It may be subtle in the shade but not in the sun!

Unfortunately these gorgeous holo's are all rather hard to find. I purchased mine via ebay and I'm very happy to add them to my collection. At some point I'll compare Blue Moon Lagoon to DS Sapphire but I'm pretty sure Blue Moon Lagoon is lighter...maybe!

Good News

Smokey came home. Nick was planning a stake out of our deck and was putting out some food when he heard a faint meow...

She was missing for 36 hours. She was starving and ate a whole packet of food and a plate of biscuits. Thank you everyone who sent thoughts and prayers her way. I'm so relieved she found her way back.

I'm currently editing pictures...so stay tuned for pretty colours tomorrow.

Update

I have a lot of exciting polishes to post. I spent yesterday playing with some of the new and untried polishes I was hoarding.

Hopefully they'll get posted at some stage. I'm just feeling rater down at the moment.

Smokey got outside yesterday. She's only been with us since Monday... and so far she hasn't come back. It's been 24 hours. I spent last night crying. It's worse than the idea of losing a cat that was just ours. I have to tell my friend at work I lost the cat she loved and gave to us...

I haven't given up hope. I know it's not unusual for cats to do as they please. I'm just worried she hadn't settled enough before her big adventure.

If anyone has any ideas on how to find a cat it'd be greatly appreciated.

Hopefully Smokey will turn up wanting food.

Raining...Across the Universe?

It's Friday! I'm excited, in 8 more hours it will be the weekend for me. School will be over....
Then I get to spend the weekend making playdough to teach the kids fractions and cleaning... suddenly it doesn't sound quite as exciting.

Fridays are always good days at school. We do news, have a singing practice, hand out homework and then have activities in the afternoon. The only real work we do is writing, which I may make Fathers Day cards in today instead... The kids love Fridays.

The only downfall to my Friday is I can hear it raining outside. So rather than my Spring mani I thought I'd post a  more appropriate blue themed mani. I'll post my Spring nails later tonight.

These are my nails from last weekend.

Revlon Royal
It all started with two coats of Revlon Royal, my new favourite blue for a base.
I then added some sparkle with a coat of Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe.

Revlon Royal with Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe
I wore these nails for 3 days and loved them. I didn't want to take them off, but by Sunday I needed a change up. So I brought out the crackle...

Royal with Across the Universe and China Glaze Oxidized Aqua
I wore the mani with Oxidized Aqua for another two days. I was still reluctant to take it off...but the lure of other pretty colours won out. I love how the glitter from Across the Universe pokes through Oxidized Aqua. A really fun mani wear.

Mice Babies

I know not everyone thinks mice are cute, but I love my little critters and I love my new little mice babies!

I think it's really interesting seeing how much they seem to grown over night. They'll be one week old tomorrow. In another three weeks they'll be weaned from their mummy and fully grown... scary.

Day one: tiny little pink jelly beans.
Day two
Day three: ohhhh look at mummy
Day four

Day five: everyone with mummy and then the five girls be themselves.
Day six: love...

Day six: look how they're growing and starting to get fur. Those are my two favourite boys. I'll be keeping them. The  black and white has been named Patrick, but the other we'll name when we see his true colour. Look at that fat belly and little ears.
You can really see how much they have grown since day one. Yes, that little fella is a piggy and the biggest of the bunch but isn't he cute.

Good thing Smokey hasn't found the babies! Their room door has been closed off to her. She gave one of my other mice a fright last night. Poor little Maggie played dead for almost 30min. Smokey jumped at her cage and tried to topple it. Maggie has now been moved to the safe room away from Smokey.

Pink Wednesday...

Yup, it's Thursday here...but I'm posting my Pink Wednesday nails...

I had good intentions to post last night.I won't make up excuses but my cheeks turned into bright red triangles and I started running a temp....so I went to bed and slept instead. I still feel so run down from this winter. Good thing it's Spring now! Stay tuned for my Spring mani tomorrow :)

Smokey was hilarious when I went to bed. She wont come near me during sunlight hours, but as soon as the sun sets she wants attention. So she climbed on to my pillow and would not budge. It's just getting dark now so she's just started meowing for attention and crept out of her room. I guess it's good she's warming up to us, it is only day 3...but could she warm up to us during the day not when I'm trying to sleep!

Smokey in a playful mood
Anyway on to the nails! My pink Wednesday nails were Zoya Neeka topped with China Glaze Crackle Glaze Haute Metal. A really nice combo, though not my greatest pictures, ignore the tip wear I was trying to make the mani last.

Zoya Neeka and China Glaze Haute Metal
A great combination to wear. The kids loved that I had pink crackley nail polish (their words) although they thought Neeka looked black not purple.
