Essence: Breaking Dawn

I really do love the Essence collections. I wish we got them or they were easier to track down. First world problems.

Anyway although I'm not the biggest Twilight movie fan...I did enjoy these polishes.

A Piece of Forever

Edwards Love

Jacob's Protection

Alice Had A Vision- Again
From memory I used two coats on all of them.

I'd ramble a bit more about the colours...but a picture paints a thousand words?
Actually I'm just super tired. We went to the midnight screening of Iron Man 3 last night.
So I ate too much before hand...stayed up too late...and didn't get home until 3am in the morning...
At least I had fun using full beam on the drive home, since there were no other cars on the road!

I had fun at the movie as well :)
I should be able to post my Iron Man 3 mani tomorrow.

Essence: Vampires Love

First off an excuse for not posting.

My weekend goal has got to be 'post on my blog and schedule some posts'.
At least I'm almost finished testing at school...when I've finished testing I have to mark all the tests though... not a fun job.

Secondly and amazing collection of stunning vampire themed polishes. I'll admit it...I love a good cheesy paranormal romance. I love fantasy books...give me a good story that involves magic and a dystopian society and I'm all set. Throw in some vampires and romance and even better. Admittedly I'm not the biggest Twilight fan...Sure I read the books...but they don't really do it for me. Bella so freaking annoying. Plus the movies ruined it for me.

When I saw swatches for Essence Vampire's Love I knew I needed the collection. My pics aren't the greatest...these polishes truly are stunning.

Gold Old Buffy

The Dawn is Broken

Hunt Me If You Can

Drool! Vampire's Love is a really nice collection. I can't wait to rock these shades this coming Autumn/Winter.

First Cull Attempt...

I went through all my polishes this morning... I thought I was doing so well. I was only keeping the ones I truly needed. No dupes allowed!

I was discarding polishes left and right...

Then I counted the ones I had left.

447.

And the OPI Holland, CG Magnetix and Essie Overboard collections are making their way to me...21...

No where near my ultimate goal of 150. I think I was too optimistic with 150. I'm just not ready to part with my 'collectors' polishes. Yeah, that's you Nail Prisms. I just couldn't bear to discard anything holo...Even GR8.

I just counted my polishes in the discard pile...

226.

I'll try again tomorrow. Maybe 300 would be a better goal for me...

And to make this post worth while... Here's a picture of a polish I'll never discard.

Essence Hello Holo
Once I've got my nail polish collection down I think I'll start on my books collection... then maybe my wardrobe. I mean I only wear the same jeans and comfy t-shirt when I'm not at school...and I've been updating my clothes to more 'teacher' looking anyway. Do I really need the pink floaty dress with crochet back... I've worn it once. Tough decisions, but I'm going to be brutal.

I'm really getting into this downsizing thing.

Irreplaceable?

I've been thinking and I've decided it's time to get my nail polish habit under control. I'm currently attempting to find my top 150 polishes...

The concept if trying to maintain a 150 polish maximum is strangely exciting... Though I wonder if it's doable. Self control has never been one of my strong points and my collection is currently nearer 600. But realistically, do I need 600 polishes?

One polish that would be a strong contender for my top 150 is Essence Colour and Go Irreplaceable.

Irreplaceable
Such a stunning, and incredibly flattering, neutral with gorgeous gold fleck shimmer. Seriously you need to enlarge this photo. It's amazing.

Could you cull your nail polish stash to 150 polishes?

Essence: Chuck and Blair

Well happy Wellington Anniversary Weekend. Is it just me or does a public holiday in the middle of the holidays totally not count? I didn't even realise it was Wellington Anniversary until my darling informed me he wasn't working Monday. I must say that was a highlight for me. I was pretty happy I'd get to spend Monday and Tuesday with him as I go back to school this week. The kids come back on the 1st of Feb so got to get ready.

Today I went with gorgeous blue Essence nails. I love this shade of blue. It's just a very flattering colour to wear. I am a blue girl after all. blue looks good on me. Its the whole blue eyes thing I think.

Chuck
See what I mean? Gorgeous flattering blue colour. It's slightly dustier than it appears in my pics. I actually wore Chuck alone today. Seriously shiny blue nails was perfect for my outfit. But Chuck has a twin... So if you want to spruce Chuck up a bit add a coat of Blair.

Chuck and Blair
Blingtastic blue nails....yes please!

Hope everyone in Wellington had a fabulous Anniversary weekend and caught the sun that was out this morning....yet dodged that heavy rain yesterday. Our weather is bizarre!

Essence: Gabriella and Troy

We're off on an adventure today. Driving to the Wairarapa. That means I need to drive over the Rimatukaa. Argh. I've only ever driven over once and that was coming home so on the hill side....not the sheer drop side. Nervous.

At least it's Monday and should be quiet. Hopefully  the 50k roadworks are still  happening so I can drive uber slow!

Anyway here's an Essence Twin set, Gabriella and Troy. A nice happy purple shimmer and purple, gold and blue glitter top coat.

Gabriella
I love that blue shimmer. A really nice purple polish. I used two coats here, but may have used three if I was going to wear it alone.

Troy and Gabriella
Gorgeous set.

Wish me luck for driving! I'm going to focus on not driving over the edge...

Birthday Twins: Edward and Bella

Today is my birthday! Birthday birthday birthday.

A wee while ago I was very lucky. I posted on here asking if anyone could help me get the Essence Twins Bella and Edward. Lisa from Never Ending Obsession was kind enough to offer to send me hers! Wow!
As soon as they arrived I emailed her full of thanks and said I'd just found my Birthday mani.

I have no idea what I'm wearing for my Birthday tonight, but I painted my nails last night and they look awesome.

This set is amazing. It's my favourite colour and has a co-ordinating glitter top coat. If the house was burning and I could only save one polish...It might have to be this set.

Bella
Wow look at Bella by herself. Amazingly awesome. I could have gotten away with one coat but choose to do two. So glossy as well!

Bella and Edward
Then you put Edward on top and....sparkles! I love the square glitter, it really makes it stand out as far as glitter top coats go.

So anyway...Happy Birthday to me. My day should be fun...Nick seems to be dying from a sinus infection so I have to play nurse and tidy the house. Lame. It's my birthday he should be tidying the house for me.

At least all my school reports are finished and handed out and there are only 3 and a half days to go. Next week is Christmas activities and moving classrooms....Argh. Moving classes is just as bad as moving house. You don't realise how much stuff you can fit into a classroom.
