Zoya: Pixie Dusts

I've had a pretty dry spell of new polishes arriving...so it was amazingly awesome when the M Beauty Lounger order our polish group ordered arrived. I was lucky enought purchase 5 of the Zoya Pixie Dusts.

I love fairies. if you spot me online in a game my name is Pixzee... and I love the textured polishes. So of course I needed Pixie Dusts in my life.

I ordered Nyx, Vespa and Godiva previously but was a little underwhelmed by them...so I knew I had to have the new bright colours!

This time round I purchased Stevie, Dahlia, Miranda, Beatrix and Solange.
I passed on Liberty (but I totally want it) and Destiny, as I already own OPI Jinx.

Dahlia
I'm not that fond of wearing black...but I had to apply Dahlia as soon as I received my polishes.
2 coats and perfection.

Stevie
I wasn't so sure about Stevie. I thought this would be my regret, but I really love the colour. Stevie may not have the same sparkle, but she's a darn pretty colour. 3 coats.

Solange
Solange is so glitzy. Such a pretty bright yellow with sparkle. Solange reminds me of the colour you imagine gold to be as a child. 3 coats.

Beatrix
Beatrix is freshly squeezed oranges, perfect for summer. there's something about wearing bright orange polish that always makes me smile. 3 coats.

Miranda
Miranda is a colour I love. I love this shade of pink. It also makes me dork out a little and think of Firefly. So of course I love it! 3 coats.
I'm in love with these Pixie Dusts.

I definitely rate the four I purchased from the summer collection as more me than the ones released in Spring. Although in saying that Dahlia was released in Spring and Dahlia is winner in my books too!

In gaming news....I can totally spend my holidays, when I'm not writing reports, playing games now...my darling hubby built me a computer! Exciting!

Zoya: Aurora and a Circus!

I have had an insanely busy week.

There's only one week left of term, before the holidays, and we just put on a circus!
This terms homework challenge for our 7 and 8 year olds was to prepare a circus act to preform at the M Block Circus. Yes we are slightly insane...last year we did a magic show and a raft race. This year we'll be doing a trolley derby in the summer, as well as our circus.

After weeks of practice (I swear I feel like I organised more circus acts that were organised at home), everything finally came together. We decorated the hall...

That took us 4 hours after school on Wednesday. It was totally worth it, and it's staying up until it falls down to be honest.

Thursday we had a dress rehearsal in front of the whole school and Thursday night was our official performance. The hall was packed, people had to stand outside at the doors. It was amazing. We asked for gold coin donations and we made $230 for the block! There are 4 classes in our block and approximately 100 children.

I now have high hopes there are no crazy videos of me on youtube!

Anyway...back on to nail polish...

Zoya Aurora is insanely pretty. Yes I had to have the polish mostly for the sleeping beauty reference...but also because of the amazing holo sparkles.

Now I need Blaze!

Zoya: Phoebe

Happy Easter Monday...I hope everyone has had a fabulous holiday weekend, whether you celebrate Easter or not. My weekend didn't go quite as planned, but it's been incredibly awesome anyway.

We spent Friday chilling with family. Somehow we managed to see three lots of family and I even got some pictures of my gorgeous one year old nephew showing his excellent taste and playing with some glitter polish bottles. Saturday we went to a BBQ and Sunday we passed just spending time together. It's been glorious weather, so hopefully today will be amazing as well. We have grand plans of budgeting and cleaning today...

I don't really have any Easter appropriate swatches to show everyone, but since the weather has been so magnificent I thought I'd rock a bright summery polish. Zoya Phoebe.

Zoya Phoebe
Phoebe is a gorgeous bright blue matte with a fine shimmer. She looks amazing matte, but when you add a top coat the shimmer really hits you.

Phoebe with top coat
I made the mistake of asking my class of 7 and 8 year olds why we have Easter. They told me it was so we didn't have to go to school, it's when the Easter Bunny comes, it's when Jesus was born, it's when baby animals are born, because we like chocolate and so we can spend time with family. Then they asked me why we have Easter. Being in a Christian country but a public school I told them Christmas is when we remember Jesus was born and Easter is when we remember Jesus died. Then one of my kids put up his hand and asked...

So does Jesus lay eggs?

My class are pretty awesome.

Zoya Sunshine

Well yesterday I showed the Zoya Summer Time polishes I'd picked up....today I have the Sunshine polishes! The Sunshine polishes are so pretty and sparkly. Again I picked up four colours from the collection, I felt I didn't need Faye since I had Rally Pretty Pink and the pink berry tone wasn't calling to me.

Kimmy
I know I'm not a red girl...I'm not a red creme girl anyway. Red sparkly shimmery goodness...that's a different story! Kimmy seems to be the odd one out from this collection. The gold shimmer is not over powering. Kimmy rather seems to have tiny gold flakes in it. A very pretty and sparkly red.

Rica
Rica is an odd colour. I want to say Rica is a coral... but then I see it in another light and it's orange...or it's pink... I'm just gong to stick with coral with a tonne of sparkly gold shimmer in it!

Apple
Apple is a pretty fresh sparkly green. Once again Apple is full of gorgeous gold shimmer. I feel like it's just not quite the right colour for me though. I think I'll still be reaching for Ivanka when I want a shimmery sparkly green polish.

Tanzy
Tanzy is the suprise of the collection for me. I wasn't expecting to love Tanzy so much. In other pictures I've seen Tanzy pull much more goldy yellow orange, but when I wore Tanzy it was a gorgeous wearable orange. I will be wearing Tanzy a lot over this summer!

Zoya Summer Time

Despite my hemispherical confusion we are in Spring and it will soon be Summer...bring on the BBQ's and cocktails! What better time to show you all some summer polishes than when the weather is finally turning around and giving us some sunshine.

Today I have the Zoya Summer Time collection to show you. Well I have four polishes from the collection. I also have four polishes from the Sunshine collection, which I may show you all tomorrow. Sunshine! Oh how I love sunshine!

Anyway polishes...

Areej
Areej is a gorgeous pink berryish colour. It is very similar to OPI's Dim Sim Plum. Mum kidnapped Dim Sim Plum a few months ago, so I'm very pleased to have Areej. Areej matches my favourite cardi perfectly. My favourite cardi in turn matches three of my favourite dresses perfectly...so Areej is a perfect colour for me!

Breezi
Breezi is a stunning dusty blue creme. Honestly look at that shiny finishes and the gorgeous colour... Breezi is stunning. I want to wear Breezi just looking at the photos.

Keiko
Keiko is a red leaning purple violet. Actually I'd call it a red violet, but colours are so subjective. One person says one thing another says the opposite. Either way Keiko is a gorgeous creme with flawless application again.

Sookie
Well I may not be a red girl, but Sookie is the red for me. Perfectly applying creme and stunningly bright. I can't wear many of the blue toned red cremes, I look like a cheap hooker, but Sooki is the perfect red. I probably won't wear Sookie much, but it's nice to know I have a red creme I like in my collection.

OPI Movin' Out

A little while ago  I ordered OPI Movin' Out. Movin' Out was one of those polishes that has been all over the blogs lately. It is a gorgeous, though rather sheer mauve with some stunning duochrome sparkles.

I tried it out firstly by itself... disaster. It looked awesome after 4 coats but even though I painted my nails at 7.30pm and didn't go to bed until 11pm it was a mangled mess of dents and sheet marks when I woke up. Not a good look.

On Monday I decided to go with a fall creme, Janna from Zoyas autumn collection.

Zoya Janna (2 coats)
By Monday night I was feeling bored with Janna and longing for something a little more springtastic. That's when I saw my bottle of Movin' Out and inspiration hit me. Janna was the perfect base for Movin' Out...I loved this combo. My kids were enthralled by my colour changing nail polish.

2 coats of OPI Movin' Out over Zoya Janna
I haven't done Movin' Out justice but trust me this combo was amazing! It let the colours of Movin' Out shine but added that extra depth and opacity that it needed.

Zoya Mirrors

We had a beautiful sunny day last Saturday so I swatched a bunch of polishes. Hopefully it's a gorgeous sunny day this Saturday. I'm ready for summer, bring on the sun!

One of the collections I managed to swatch was the Zoya Mirrors collection. I must say I love Zoya I just wish that Zoya polishes were easier to get. That I didn't have to find e-tailers willing to ship to NZ. Yes I know that there's a website I can get Zoya from in New Zealand but $21 a bottle? and they only just got the Intimates collection?

Anyway...Zoya Mirrors...AWESOME.

Yara
Yara is a gorgeous olive green with gold shimmer. A very pretty colour that is not your usual.

Neeka
Neeka is my favourite of the bunch.A gorgeous smokey purple with seriously pretty shimmer. Love.

Marina
I wasn't sure I would like the three metallic colours in the collection. I found them much better than I'd anticipated. Not streaky at all.Marina is a gorgeous greyed metallic blue.

Jem
I know a lot f people are complaining that Jem is a dupe of a Valerie, but I still love Jem. It has slighty more gold to it in my opinion. Either way I kept Jem and gifted Valerie to mum.

Nimue
Nimue is my least favourite of the collection. Greyed lilac. It looks kind of wishy washy on me...well at least I think it looks wishy washy.

Tao
I like Tao more than I thought I would. Tao is actually a really nice grey metallic. Soft yet stylish.

So there you have it the Zoya Mirrors collection.

In other news Smokey has found her tail.

Spring Green

Spring is two colours in my mind. Green and purple.
A gorgeous green that encapsulates the idea of Spring in my mind is Zoya Apple.

Zoya Apple
Just a quick post this morning, I should probably be getting ready to leave for work. I'm just not feeling so keen to leave as I have an observation today...not one of my favourite things.
