Girly Bits: P.S I Love You!

Argh.

It's wet and miserable....and so, so cold.
Darn you southern hemisphere winter!

My parents meanwhile are sending me photos from Spain, where they are hanging by the pool in a little hillside town. Jealous?

I tried to find some swatches of dreary, rainy day polishes... But my 'to be posted' folder seems to be over flowing with gorgeous sunshiney polishes.

So I chose the sunshiniest!

I've said over and over that Girly Bits are some of my favourite indie polishes are ever.
The P.S I Love You collection was released as a mothers day collection...I of course just had to have the three polishes. Yes mostly for the purple Twitterpated.

Hot Shot
Hot Shot is a stunning pink holo. What's not to love?

A Mothers Love over Hot Shot
A Mothers Love is the glitter topper of the collection. A stunning combination of pink and gold glitters in all different shapes and sizes.

Twitterpated
Twitterpated is why I needed these polishes. Not only is it a gorgeous holo, but it also has a pink shimmer! Absolutely stunning.

Now I'm going to snuggle up in my bed with the electric blanket and find a good book to read on my kindle!

Valentines Nails!

Well rather belated... But I still wanted to share my Valentines Day nails.
I loved the softness of this mani.

OPI Play the Peonies topped with Girly Bits Heirloom
I loved how dainty and feminine these two polishes looked. I actually wore this combination for four days. It was still going strong, but as someone who generally changes their polish every day... It was time for a change.

Best of 2012: Indie Collection

It wasn't hard for me to choose my favourite indie collection for the year... although I'm probably cheating a little as this was actually several collections released over the year to form one super collection!

Girly Bits Calendar Girls!

February: Promise Me

March: Magically Delicious

April: Hippity Hop over CG Sweet Hook

May: Mother May I?

June: Daddy's Girl over Color Club  Cold Metal

July: Canadian Eh over black

July: Vive la Revolution over SC Grecian Blue

July: Star Spangled

August: Wet Bikini over CG Exotic Encounter

September: Indian Summer over CG Electric Beat

October: Howl at the Moon over black

November: Crunchy Leaves
I didn't include the Halloween or Christmas polishes as they were their own collections.

The only thing that bugs me is I don't know which is the December polish! Was there an official December? In my head I like to imagine that Fathomless was the December polish... But really I would love to know... So if anyone knows which the official December polish was please let me know!

My Birthday Mani!

My Birthday may have been a week ago... but I'm finally posting my amazing (if I do say so myself) Birthday Mani.

Picture Polish Tease

I started with 2 coats of Picture Polish Tease... WOW new favourite pink. Seriously Tease is amazing. The formula was fab and the sparkle is stunning. I'm developing quite the Picture Polish addiction.

Picture Polish Tease topped with Girly Bits Ornamental My Dear Watson
What birthday mani is complete without multi coloured glitter? I chose Girly Bits Ornamental My Dear Watson. Ornamental My Dear Watson may have been released for Christmas... But I plan to wear it any chance I get! I'll post swatches later in the week so you can see just how gorgeous it is.

I couldn't stop looking at my nails with this pretty and rather sparkly combo!

Girly Bits: Halloween

W00t! It's the weekend... and rather than finishing marking tests, starting to write my reports or typing up my kids stories (have you tried to get a 7 year old t type up their own story....argh, it's painful and you have to edit so much. It's just easier to do it myself when I need it quickly)

Anyway rather than do all of those things I need to/should be doing... I'm going shopping with Lani.
A day filled with polish, cute accessories and pet stores sounds way cooler than working all weekend.

Every day from now until Wednesday, I will have a fabulous Halloween inspired post. I didn't realise how many Halloween themed polishes I' managed to pick up this year... so there may be double posting!

Todays offering is the three polishes I picked up from the Girly Bits Halloween collection.

Monster Mash over CG Gaga for Green
Monster Mash is a fab mix of green and gold glitter, black squares and shards and a radioactive looking tinted base.

Candy Corn over CC Pucci-licous
Candy Corn is the obligatory yellow, orange and white candy corn inspired polish. I have no idea what candy corn is like... we don't get it in NZ, is it chewy or crunchy? What is it really? I just know it's stripped candy that is associated with Halloween. It's funny how I associate something I have no idea what it really is with Halloween because of how Americanised western society seems to be.

Apparition over CG Kinetic Candy and aEngland Camelot
Apparition is the polish I had to apply as soon as I got it. Gorgeous off white glitters, holo bars and opalescent glitters that change colour depending on the base you use and the lighting. I want to layer it over everything!

Happy Fathers Day!

Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there (in NZ and everywhere else).

We celebrated Fathers day for my dad yesterday.
I made him dinner (lasagna and salad) and dessert  (chocolate brownies with ice cream). then we watched The Avengers on bluray (that was his present).

It's been a busy weekend for him as they've just moved house... now they're round the corner from me!

Anyway...

Here's a Fathers Day themed mani!

Girly Bits: Drool Worthy Spammage

I have had this post all ready to go for a couple of weeks now...

When it comes to Girly Bits polishes I have this strange compulsion to collect them all... I need need need Razzle Dazzle at the moment and January Snow (So I'm up to date with the Calendar collection).

I seem to be amassing a collection of blue/purple blend glitter polishes. At some stage I will have to do a comparison between Dollish Polish Super Bass, Pahlish Train Under Water and Girly Bits Daddy's Little Girl.

Anyway enjoy the spammage.

In other exciting news, my Helmers arrived the other week. I still haven't quite got my polishes organised exactly how I want them... and still haven't go my Helmers where I want them... they're actually sitting in the kitchen at the moment lol. But look forward to a post on my snazzy new Helmers in the short term future!
