Dollish Polish: This is Halloween

Happy Halloween!

I've saved my favourite Halloween collection to share with you all today. The Dollish Polish This is Halloween collection.

I was lucky enough and managed to pick up every polish in the collection. How could I pass on Nightmare Before Christmas references?

This is Halloween, 3 coats alone
This is Halloween, 1 coat over CG Near Dark

Deadly Nightshade, 1 coat over CG Grape Pop

Spectral Pup, 1 coat over CG Electric beat

Vampires Coven, 1 coat over CG Purr-fect Plum

What's This/ What's this? 1 coat over Zoya Dove
Somethings Up With Jack ,1 coat over OPI Flit a Bit
Somethings Up With Jack ,1 coat over CG Haunted

I'm the Boogie Man, 3 coats alone

We're Simply Meant to Be, 1 coat over CG Sweet Hook
I love love love every polish in this collection, but my surprise favourite was We're Simply Meant to Be. I've worn it 3 times since I received it! I absolutely adore it over a light colour. Sweet Hook and Kinetic Candy are perfect bases.

Girly Bits: Halloween

W00t! It's the weekend... and rather than finishing marking tests, starting to write my reports or typing up my kids stories (have you tried to get a 7 year old t type up their own story....argh, it's painful and you have to edit so much. It's just easier to do it myself when I need it quickly)

Anyway rather than do all of those things I need to/should be doing... I'm going shopping with Lani.
A day filled with polish, cute accessories and pet stores sounds way cooler than working all weekend.

Every day from now until Wednesday, I will have a fabulous Halloween inspired post. I didn't realise how many Halloween themed polishes I' managed to pick up this year... so there may be double posting!

Todays offering is the three polishes I picked up from the Girly Bits Halloween collection.

Monster Mash over CG Gaga for Green
Monster Mash is a fab mix of green and gold glitter, black squares and shards and a radioactive looking tinted base.

Candy Corn over CC Pucci-licous
Candy Corn is the obligatory yellow, orange and white candy corn inspired polish. I have no idea what candy corn is like... we don't get it in NZ, is it chewy or crunchy? What is it really? I just know it's stripped candy that is associated with Halloween. It's funny how I associate something I have no idea what it really is with Halloween because of how Americanised western society seems to be.

Apparition over CG Kinetic Candy and aEngland Camelot
Apparition is the polish I had to apply as soon as I got it. Gorgeous off white glitters, holo bars and opalescent glitters that change colour depending on the base you use and the lighting. I want to layer it over everything!

Dollish Polish: Zombie Flesh

It's a week until Halloween so I thought it was about time I started posting some Halloween polishes!

And why not start with one of the awesomest polishes for halloween ever...

Dollish Polish Zombie Flesh!

This is the newer formula. In all honesty I'd never thought about buying Zombie Flesh before, there was something about the colour that didn't appea to me at all. I thought it would look awful on me. But awhile back I was browsing the Dollish Polish store and saw it was in stock. So in to my cart it jumped and before I knew it Zombie Flesh was here.

I'm so glad Zombie Flesh jumped in to my cart, because its actually an incredibly flattering colour. Almost a neutral tone on me.

Dollish Polish Zombie Flesh 3 coats
While Zombie Flesh isn't marketed as a Halloween polish it certainly fits in with the other polishes that have been released this year. And who doesn't love Zombies?

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

I love it when I have good days with the kids. I get home and feel so high that they actually learnt something today. I know they learn things most days...but it's just so nice when you can actually see their learning/progress.

Anyway on to Halloween nails... mine are very subtle. China Glaze Lets Do It In 3D with two cute little bat stickers I got in one of the Color Club mini sets. Subtle yet awesome...it was finally sunny today. I was out on lunch duty so I really wanted to wear a nice holo!

China Glaze Lets Do It In 3D
Mmmm....holo deliciousness.

I saw today that nihrida posted a self portrait for the 30 day drawing challenge. I'm not big on nail art, so wasn't too keen to get on board with the nail challenge...but a drawing challenge, that's something I want to try! As I just decided I wanted in on this challenge today... I may have to spend all night drawing and scribbling out my drawings... So hopefully I'll have something to show later today or tomorrow.

The challenge as posted on nihrida
In other news my giveaway closes on the 31st... Yeah it's that time already in New Zealand, but it'll close at 11:59pm 31st of October PDT. If you haven't entered and want to click here.

Right, I'm off to eat left overs, make Nick lunch for the next few days, watch 16 and Pregnant and draw a picture of myself!

Lush Goodies

Ok I admit it I'm addicted to collecting things... Nail polish, books, blurays, markers, Disney Christmas ornaments, lipstick, eyeshadow... gotta get them all! Another of my addictions is Lush.

Oh how I love Lush. As far as I know I've always loved Lush. I'm sure it started as a teenager when I discovered the Lush shop in the Old Bank Arcade... The smell lured me... and then I discovered the online shop.
My favourite Lush time of the year is when they release the new Christmas products. I love Christmas. I start planning Christmas as soon as Halloween things hit the shops. Anyway I've been waiting for this years Lush Christmas goodies to hit the NZ online store... and last weekend they did!

I needed to order a few gifts for friends and family...for Christmas presents... So I ordered myself some goodies as well!

My Lush haulies!
Glogg and Snow Fairy. Two very different and must have shower gels. Snow Fairy is the epitome of girly scents, everything sweet, pink and glittery. Whilst Glogg is awesome spiced wine, perfect for winter. Nicks favourite is the Snow Fairy...
Candy Cane soap is a new product for this year...omg it smells just like peppermint candy  canes...sweet yet minty. Delicious.
Snowcake soap is an old favourite of mine. Sweet almond icing soap for your hands. The gold is a nice touch this year.
The Melting Snowman was too cute to pass up. He's a bubble bar...I don't know if I can use him though...he really is too cute.

The Jilted Elf shower jelly is such a bright awesome green with gold shimmer. Enlarge the picture and you'll see! I'm awful at describing scents but the Jilted Elf is a great fresh wake you up scent.

Snow Fairy lip tint...bright pink and smells like Snow Fairy...is also good for your lips...count me in!
I also picked up some non Christmas related items.

Twilight and Ghost, Halloween themed shower gels.
Angels on Bare Skin my favourite daily cleanser.
Dark Angels an awesome cleanser I use about twice a week. It's a little odd putting dark black cleanser on to your face to clean it... I use Dark Angels, wash it off and then use Angels on Bare Skin. This normally gets rid of all the black marks! If that hasn't gotten rid of everything I use Tea Tree Water toner to clean the rest.
And a bonus...I didn't get this yesterday. But check out last years Angels Delight soap. Iridescent flakies and glittery stars...I'm feeling inspired for a mani!

Angels Delight soap 2010. This years soap is different in colour.
I also tidied up my Lush stash... yup I'm a hoarder...

OPI Zom-body to Love

I was highly excited that OPI was releasing a full size bottle of glow in the dark polish for Halloween this year. I was even more excited it was green and more excited again the name referenced zombies. Talking of zombies... What's your zombie plan? If you don't have a plan for the zombie apocalypse it's probably time you started planning this Halloween!

Zom-body to Love
I've used four coast of Zom-body to Love, if you think it looks a tad gloppy...it is. Not through fault of the polish, but rather my impatience. I love how it has that particle glow in the dark look, like the bouncy balls you had as a kid...the ones that looked crystalised almost and you used to pick at and pull apart... I love the colour of Zom-body to Love and the fact that unlike Glow-ink the Dark I managed to get it to a suitable colour in 4 coats not 5 billion.

Zom-body to Love getting it's glow on.
The coolest thing about Zom-body to love is that it glows. It glows bright. If yours is not glowing hold it up to  a light to charge it.

Zom-body to Love and Black Shatter
Zom-body to Love is available in a set with Black Shatter. So I thought I better try the combo out! Love. Black shatter looks pretty awesome with Zom-body to Love. Ahhh too many awesome Halloween polishes. What to wear for the actual day! I thought I had taken a picture of Zom-body to love glowing with Shatter but I can't seem to find it. You'll have to take my word, shatter and top coat don't prevent it glowing.
