BB Couture Spam and a Winner!

There was a winner for my 365 give away that finished at the end of October. We just had a few problems with emails not arriving in the right folders and took awhile to confirm everything. Good news is though that there was a winner and we finally got everything sorted!

So congratulations to Sarah Crawford! Everything is in the post and hopefully winding its way across the world to you.

And now on to some awesome BB Couture polishes...

I love BB Couture polishes. I wish there was an easier way for me to get my hands on them.
I ordered these from Overall Beauty. It was rather easy to do...but the waiting was hard! I wanted them instantly. In saying that, they didn't take nearly as long as I thought they would to ship from the US.

Love Bug
Man Bug
Cybele
Hermosa Surfer Girl
Hermosa Surfer Girl (look at the sparkles)
I love BB Couture's seemingly trade mark glitter/shimmer. It's thoroughly awesome. Now that I have Love Bug and Man Bug I must have Signs of Spring... Each time I buy BB Couture Nail Polish I just want more!

Color Club: Backstage Pass

I had to go to the dentist yesterday for a filling. I'm still feeling sorry for myself... The fact I had to go to the dentist, that I had to have an injection, I had to spend so much money... So here's some cheery glitter to make me feel better. Unfortunately I'm not really into some of this collection... But the ones I love make up for the ones I'm not so keen on.

So here we have Color Clubs Backstage Pass collection.

Its a Hit over Orly Au Champagne.
I'm really not feeling Its a Hit... I just don't like the large hex glitter. It's too large and they look like they're curling. Not a look I'll be wearing.

Wish Upon a Rock Star over BB Couture Junk in the Trunk
Wish Upon a Rock Star is my favourite...tied with Take the Stage. Wish Upon a Rock Star is a gorgeous mix of coloured glitter with larger hex glitter in a pretty pale purpley colour. Unique compared to all the Happy Birthday dupes.

Backstage Pass over BB Couture Scorching Strawberry
Backstage Pass is another that I just don't like. The hex glitter is too big and it's hard to apply. This one has large silver and large fuchsia glitter. There seems to be some small glitter...but good luck finding it!

Platinum Record over BB Couture Feathered Vixen
Platinum Record is another I like...but it's not terribly unique. Varying sizes of silver glitter... still it is pretty.

Fame and Fortune
Fame and Fortune is the only one that I see being worn as a stand  alone polish. Whilst it can be layered it can also be built up to be worn alone. This was two coats. I quite like the squishy jelly look with broken glass shards of glitter.

Take the Stage over Artsy Crafty
Take the Stage is my tied favourite with Wish Upon a Rock Star. It may look like just another gold glitter, but if you look closely you'll see the broken glass shards. Pretty.

So I like 4 out of 6 of these polishes...and I've actually been wearing these polishes a lot lately. I'm loving glitters layered over anything at the moment. Everything must be glitterfied!

BB Couture: Eye Candy

Now if yesterdays polishes didn't give you happy tingly feelings... check out todays. The BB Couture Eye Candy collection. Eye Candy says it all and these polishes are a delight to behold.

Junk in the Trunk
I wasn't sure about junk in the Trunk when I swatched it on a stick... but seeing it on my nails. Wow. That blue is amazing and so photogenic. Look at the pretty shimmer. I don't need another blue polish... although that wont stop me buying more!

Scorching Strawberry
Scorching Strawberry was a surprise for me. I thought it was just a plain creme pink... nope! not only is it an amazingly gorgeous and flattering shade of pink but it also has the tiniest hint of shimmer. Pretty!

Feathered Vixen
Feathered Vixen was another polish I was meh about on my swatch stick. But you know what, it's actually a very pretty purple with shimmer. I used two coats and should probably have done a third looking at these pictures.

Sweet Silicon
I love teal/turquoise/aqua shades. Any colour with just a hint of blue green is awesome in my books. Sweet Silcon is an amazing shimmery almost metallic colour.  /love.

Busty Bombshell
Having a double d cup size I think a polish named busty Bombshell is slightly awesome. I'm always so self-conscious of my breasts, forever pulling up tops to ensure i'm not showing too much. So the fact I can wear a polish that celebrates busts is pretty awesome. Even more awesome it's actually and olive tone I can wear. It has just the right amount of blue mixed in for me. Unlike Cult nails In a trance which was perfect for mums skin tone. not that she was complaining!

Trim and Tasseled
Wow. Now this is an amazing polish. Sure I don't capture it's awesomness with my camera. But even so it still looks drool worthy. Yeah it's more purple than I could capture... but basically think of Hermosa Surfer Girls kinky older cousin and you get this gorgeous purpley glitter amazingness.

Yeah I'm pretty happy I picked up this collection. after I purchased it I was told it wouldn't be available any more! :( good thing I bought it.

Procrastinating

I should currently be writing a billion comments for parent teachers tomorrow...yes i left the comments to the last minute. I hate writing comments!

So instead of writing my comments I'm taking a few minutes to procrastinate and post on here :)

In all fairness I have completed my reading and writing comments. I just have the maths ones left to write.

I've been a little slack with posting since I came back from my amazing wedding/holiday in Rarotonga.
I'm actually having a few nail issues. my nails were just how I like them  in Rarotonga...but they made getting my contacts in a little difficult.

So here are some holiday nails!

A few days old wedding nails... BB Couture Tink Pink and a nail sticker. Mickey and Minnie are making an appearance.
Sinful Colors Thimbleberry out and about on a 4 wheel drive safari tour.
OPI Catch Me In Your Net. We were visiting the marine reserve  for a snorkel so I needed to wear something mermaidy!
Anyway I got back from Rarotonga and attacked my nails with a file... I was determined to have straight tips...which I hated. So out came the file... then the nail clippers... and then finally I got so fed up with my nails that i attacked them one lunch time with a pair of school scissors.

needless to say my nails are nubs right now... my mum was proudly showing me her nails the other day. Silver with black shatter on top. She looked to see what colour I was wearing (I wasn't wearing polish) and exclaimed..."oh, what did you do? Don't worry they'll grow back". Lol....I do love my mum.

Anyway back to writing comments... I'll be at school from 8am to 8pm tomorrow and Tuesday...argh.

Hard Decisions!

Thank you everyone for your kind messages yesterday. I spent a large amount of today in bed, my nose has been running like a tap and my sinuses are hurting. I saw some drugs at the supermarket for sinus and sinus related headaches...but when I read the back it said I couldn't take my other drugs with them. So I'm sticking to ibuprofen and my antibiotics.

I did manage to get out of bed today, around 2pm, and finish packing. My case weighed in at 26kg when we weighed it... opps! I'm allowed 23kg. After some juggling between cases, Nicks weighed in at 17kg,  and putting some unneeded things back, my case now weighs 22kg.

One of the hardest decisions I had to make was which polishes to take with me. I pulled all my summer polishes out and swatched and finally narrowed my selection down...

I'll start with the wedding polishes.

BB Couture Tink Pink
OPI So Many Clowns...So Little Time
For my own nails I plan to wear So Many Clowns...So Little Time and Tink /Pink. I love the pretty sparkle of Tink Pink and So Many Clowns just makes it look fresher and more striking. It eliminates that visible nail line.

China Glaze For Audrey
What would a wedding be without For Audrey. For Audrey will grace my toes as I walk down the beach in my little white sandals.

Orly Taffy
Taffy is the polish that my Bidesmaid chose for her nails. She's not a big polish wearer so a nice soft colour with a hint of shimmer is perfect for her.

And of course I plan to be wearing polish on the other days as well...so here are the polishes I've chosen to take for the holiday. I was dying to take my holo's...but had a bit of a rethink...and decided not to take anything too precious.

China Glaze Blue Iguana
China Glaze Papaya Punch
OPI Catch Me in Your Net
OPI The One That Got Away
China Glaze Gamer Glam
China Glaze High Def
I'm also taking Sinful Colours Thimbleberry, my new go to coral. I just haven't taken pictures of it yet.

I tried to choose polishes that were no mess 2 coaters. But I couldn't resist taking Catch Me in Your Net and Blue Iguana. They'll look so pretty under the sun.

Wedding Nails...I decided!

Well I finally decided on wedding.
I wanted something slightly different, not totally a french manicure, a bit of sparkle, something that had a name I loved, something a bit special and most importantly something beach appropriate...

I think I've found the perfect polish!

BB Couture Tink Pink
It's perfect! So pretty and delicate and girly. I've emphasised my tips using China Glaze Snow. I'm not sure if I'll do that on the day...I'll have to have a play with different white combinations and underwear polishes. Please click the picture to see the amazing glitter that made me fall in love with Tink Pink. It has a stunning greenness to the glitter. It's spectacular. And the name...Tink Pink...it links back to my love of Disney :)
Imagine Tink Pink in the sun at the beach...ohhhh it's perfect!

Please excuse my poor dry and battered hands. I've been trying to clean and my new camera's macro isn't forgiving!

What I Wanted...

Well, what I wanted was not what I got for tea. All I wanted was delicious Hells Pizza. A large Pandemonium (chicken, cranberry and brie) and chicken tenders to share with Nick. Actually I changed my mind...not to share. He's mocking my spelling.

What I had for tea was salad...lettuce, tomato and cucumber. With a mince pattie I made with just mince from the left over mince I cooked Nick in his delicious smelling pasta...

I love salad...but mmmm pizza would have been good!

Oh well, it's all worth it for the wedding!

In awesome nail pictures, it's been raining heavily on and off today and most of the week actually. I haven't been able to take any new pictures. The good news is you wont have to look at my stubby broken nail as it grows out! In the mean time here's BB Couture Sea of Cortez.

Sea of Cortez.
Wow! Sea of Cortez is an amazing blue with awesome glitter. It's such a pretty polish. Like omg stare at my nails pretty. Yes, there's some visible nail line on me, but I put that down to my crazy nail whites and my laziness to do another coat! Everyone that loves blue needs Sea of Cortez.

Black Eye and Tink Pink

Well it's almost a black eye. Bruising has started on my nose and in the corner of my eye.
I managed to last less than 5min doing my playground duty today.

A couple of year 6 boys were kicking around a ball...that happened to land directly in my face.
Unfortunately it wasn't a nice soft school ball, it was an omg hard soccer ball from home.

I've got some tiny scratches on my cheek, a bit of swelling, a lot of red and the start of some bruising. Hopefully I don't wake up tomorrow with a full on black eye!

I've been feeling like pretty delicate colours lately..so here's BB Couture Tink Pink. Another polish I bought to test out as a wedding colour. It has possibilities. Pretty and Pink? Check! Soft glitter? Check! Reminds me of Disney? Check...Tinkerbell!

Tink Pink
This was four coats and you can see I got lazy, so it got a bit thick and gloopy. Never mind Tink Pink is so pretty and girly. Very much so a princess polish! It made it into my short list for wedding polishes.

Bottle Spam

Over the last two weeks I've been very lucky. I've managed to find polishes at the top of my wishlist, for reasonable-ish prices. Ok, so I totally more than I should have more a couple...but they were still cheaper than what I would have had to pay in New Zealand at retail price. Talking about price of polish in NZ, I noticed yesterday that OPI was over $26. That's crazy.

These are the beauties that have arrived for me to play with over the last two weeks.

You Got Soul-ar, I Always Get My Man-darin, Get Your Lem-on and The :Lime Starts Here.
These were the last few polishes, I didn't originally order from the Wicked Sweet and the Starry Temptress, Color Club collections. To be honest I can see why I didn't order them to start with, but Get You Lem-on and Always Get My Man-darin have some gorgeous shimmer in them. Unfortunately I think they smell like cleaning products. Blah citrus scents.

3D Fantasy, Hyper Haute, Gamer Glam and High Def
Tronicas! I was so excited when these arrived yesterday. I wanted Gamer Glam for Nick, not for him to wear...but so I could dork out and wear it to game with him. lol...yeah. The Tronicas may not be crazy linear holographics but they are pretty and definitely have a 3D effect happening.

Kaleidscope Him Out, He's Going in Circles and Rated Holographic.
I managed to get my hands on six of the China Glaze Holographics before Christmas, Nick gave them to me for Christmas. I've been searching for more ever since. I managed to find 5 more on ebay. Octa-Gone Wild and How About a Tumble are making their way to me from Europe, but these three arrived yesterday! If only I could find Visit Me in Prism...then I'd have the whole set!

DS Sapphire, DS Signature, DS Original, DS Passion and DS Diamond.
These are my first DS polishes. These retail for close to $40 in New Zealand...So I haven't felt the need to purchase the DS polishes before. That is until I googled OPI DS...then I needed them. Original is my most expensive polish to date. It cost me more than my Lippmanns...just...but at $18 it was still cheaper than NZ prices, even if that was US$.

I Juggle...Men, So Many Clowns, So Little Time, Step Right Up and In the Spot-light Pink.
I'm still on the hunt for the perfect wedding polish.I hoped my perfect polish might be in the Femme de Cirque collection from OPI. Gorgeous light shades and a pretty tiny flaked top coat...I just might find the polish I'm looking for! It would help if I had any idea of what I wanted...

Love Your Life, Lets Get Star-ted and Gone Wishin'
Respect the World, It's Possible, Enchantress and Jade in the Shade
I managed to get these Nicole's on ebay in a set, for a reasonable price. I really wanted some more of the novelty glitters and had a serious lemming for Respect the World. As far as I can tell Jade in the Shade is more frosty while Respect the World is sheerer and has more shimmer. I'm looking forward to comparing them in the sun. If we get some sun today!

Through the Looking Glass, Alice's Adventures and Down the Rabbit Hole.
Ocean Breeze, Candy Kisses and Peppermint.
I love that these BYS polishes look more like frankens than something normally produced by polish companies. The first three are special Alice in Wonderland themed polishes and the bottom three are Diamond Shimmers. They're all crazy glittery. Down the Rabbit Hole is my favourite. Awesome black jelly with holo glitter. BYS are very easy to get a hold off in NZ and compared to other polishes, very cheap. The Diamond Shimmers were $5.90 and the Alice in Wonderlands $8.90.

Happy Birthday and Ruby Red Slippers.
Lippmans...drool. Although to be honest I'm not feeling Ruby Red Slippers or Across the Universe. Well not as polishes by themselves. They get too clumpy with all that glitter. They look so much better layered, but that's just my opinion. Happy Birthday is awesome. I needed it even though I have the pink glitter Milani Gems. Happy Birthday is so celebratory.

Tink Pink and Sea of Cortez.
These are the other two polishes I ordered from BB Couture with the four from the Touch of Greece Collection. Tink Pink is supposed to be another option for a wedding polish and I just really wanted Sea of Cortez.

Wow, that is a lot of polish. Luckily I don't have much on order at the moment. I really should do a no buy...but I doubt I'd cope!

I other exciting news I joined the On Wednesdays We Wear Pink club, so on Wednesday I'll be rocking Pink. Love Mean Girls!
